A Facebook event I heard about.

So I was driving with my dad this morning when he told me about a Facebook event where people are changing their profile pics to that of their favorite cartoon chracters. He explained to me that it was in order to be against child violence and just to fill Facebook with cartoon characters in order to remind all of us of a happier time in our lives- our childhood. So, what do you think, my fellow Escapists?

What the hell? Against Child Violence? Never heard of this event and I've been on Facebook for quite some time today.

Is that what that's about? These things happen on Facebook all the time, and usually the justification is just "It's anime month, so make your profile pic your favorite anime character." Just change "anime month" and "anime character" to the appropriate theme, and you have it. Actually, sometimes I wish I were going into Anthropology, instead of History, just so I can study the way these things spread; it's quite fascinating.

I've never heard of that, and it sounds like a terrible idea. If anything it would remind me of John Wayne Gacy.
