Ummm...Taken?
Honestly, the story is alright by itself. Its not 100 percent original, but its fine. I found it entertaining to keep track of everything. There were also a few twists, like the French Police working with the prositute ring.
The acting in this movie is quite solid. Liam did a good job in this movie, though his character didn't have as much emotion as I would imagine a person having. I still find all the performances convincing though, especially Maggie Grace. She does a pretty good imperssion of a scared and helpless teenager caught in a ring of crime and violence.
Story: 8/10 - An average, but exicting, story.
Action: 10/10 - This action movie certainly delivers. The only way it could have more action if Brian flew threw a nuclear explosion-in hell.
Acting: 9/10 - Acting was excellent in this movie. Emotions are believeable, and its easy to imagine yourself in that position.
Overall: 27/30
I definitly recommend this movie if you like action thrillers. Its a good movie that will grab you tight and won't stop swinging you until Kim is rescued.
(Sorry for this particulary short review)
Taken revolves around ex-CIA Operative, Brian Mills(Liam Neeson), who is currently depressed after his divorce from his wife and being neglected by his daughter, Kim Mills(Maggie Grace). Minutes into the film, Kim announces that she wants to go to Paris with her friend, Amanda. After an argument, Brian refuses to sign the papers allowing Kim to leave the country. Brian later gives in and signs the papers, allowing Kim to leave to Paris. After giving strict rules to Kim, she departs. When they land, Kim and Amanda encounter a friendly fellow, Peter (Nicolas Giraud), who then offers them a ride to their house. After Peter observes the house's location, he leaves the girls alone. After hours, Kim still hasn't called Brian telling him that she landed, and Brian calls her himself. Kim escapes into the bathroom to get away from the loud music Amanda is listening to, and talks with Brian. Several minutes later, Kim sees several men take Amanda, and Brian instructs her to hide in the next bedroom. Kim is also taken, starting Brian's hunt for her. Brian later finds out that a group of Albianian men capturing women and turning them into prositutes and selling them for profit. In the end, Brian manages to track down Kim to a boat after he found Amanda dead from a forced overdose, and infilitrates the boat. He finds a large man who has ordered prositutes on the boat, which Kim has become. Brian kills him and rescues Kim, and they return to the states.

Taken does NOT fail in action. There's plenty of action sequences where Liam shoots, beats, and tortures men in a quest to find his daughter. I have to say though, it's a little bit unrealistic how of Brian's age could really do all of this insanity. But never mind that. This is an action movie! A manly action movie! Want realism? Go screw your self! Or, just watch a biography...said:![]()
What'd you say 'bout my momma?
