Well... so much for BioShock. I think this just officially became a bargain-bin title.
My thoughts exactly.
The whole ambiance, the dark foreboding deep of Rapture, the hidden perils of the sunken city, has just been pitched into a garbage can. When I played the first one, I rarely ran. I walked meticulously, carefully exploring, looking for those who would be lurking in the shadows to strike, and listening to the distance sounds of the screams and groans of the denizens and dying city alike.

Now people will be running full tilt, bunny hopping all over the place, and practically wiping their asses with any semblance left of the setting of this game. At least the first one was good.
Don't play the multiplayer then, and stick to the campaign? It's being developed by a different company, with input from 2K anyway, so they're not cutting development costs and time from the campaign to make the MP.

Because when I think Multiplayer, I think the single player experience.

Are you that stupid? Its not the single player. Its made by a different developer. Please know what the hell you're talking about before you say something stupid.

Actually i think the multiplayer looks rather "i've seen it all before", even though u can use plasmids and stuff. It just doesn't stand out.

If you compare that to CoD MW2 for example, that's the same multiplayer as the 2 previous ones, but still it looks way better and way much fun than the multiplayer of Bioshock 2. The trailer really let me down.

hmm, maybe im beign odd again, but this vid fills me with hope

i was gettign it for the single player only but this looks like ome decent fun on the multiplayer, could end up increasing the longevity of the game greatly...i just hope u can have private matches and edit some rules, kinda Halo 3 style

That multiplayer video looked terrible. I will not be playing the multiplayer, probably not even to try it. I am still going to buy it for the singleplayer though.

I don't know how you guys played Bioshock, but when I did it was pretty frantic gameplay. I didn't spend much time on traps and ambushes, I just teared through with my upgraded shotgun and machine gun, hacking turrets and cameras along the way. So when I look at this trailer, it feels to me like Bioshock, with faster hacking, more Splicers (and Big Daddy combat at the same time, usually I killed everything else before taking on the Rosies and Bouncers). That sounds alright to me, especially the sped up hacking.

that might work out well. as long as 1 plasmid isnt better than all the others. telekinesis looked quite evil with that grenade.

Easy tiger! I didn't know I insulted your grandma.

I don't care if it's made by a different developer, and I know it's not the single player experience. What I'm saying is that it's such a stark contrast to the single player experience. I enjoyed Bioshock for it's dark, tense, foreboding atmosphere, and this is completely ripping that apart. It just seems so...bizarre. It's like having Christmas in the summer. The right celebration in the wrong way.

And go easy on the insults, friend.

Am I the only one that was reminded of Fallout's presentation style?
The drawn cartoon characters and stuff?

Bioshock shouldn't have and doesn't need multiplayer. The only people that cried for multiplayer were those ADD kids that bought the game and expected another COD.

Let's face it we weren't expecting gripping multiplayer action akin to the single player style. This is a complete mosh up of fun and action and freaking plasmids and I could not be happier :D

That was a bit of a generalisation.

I hate COD and I love the look of this multiplayer. I see it as a welcome bonus, not a downgrade. I mean if it's so offensive then you could always, I dunno, stick to single player?

Bioshock does that too. Actually didn't it do it before Fallout 3? I wouldn't know about the others, never played em

Of course it's different. It's multiplayer. Were you really expecting the same atmosphere during a run and gun mosh? I loved all the dark tones too, that's why we have singleplayer to lose ourselves in

Edit: Sorry for the double post

Okay. I saw it. But really, I don't think it will actually work. The thing that made Bioshock great was that you were the only token Normal guy in the middle of a city gone terribly wrong with EVERYONE out for Adam, and your ass. Really, I kinda want a Left 4 Dead style of competitive play where one side is a splicer and the other side are the Big Daddies, or one side is the Big Daddies who lose points if they die and they harvest the sister, and the rest are all Jack's from Bioshock 1. And besides, Bioshock's combat was pretty slow paced. It wasn't as much the star of the game compared to the atmosphere and the plasmids.

Watch the insults, Ace.

Why is run-and-gun multiplayer part of a game like BioShock? Because 2K is attempting to broaden the audience. It needs to be more than just the publisher of GTA and it apparently sees BioShock as its best chance to do that. BioShock was a success but not nearly enough of one to keep 2K viable when Rockstar isn't working its magic.

And if you think for one instant that that isn't going to impact the single-player game, then perhaps you need to turn your question inward.

As long as they keep the Singel Player mode as good as the last one I don't care.

Otherwise we'll always Molotov Cocktails...

eh, i wouldn't like it, I only like Team based multiplayer (I.E Team Fortress 2, Resistance 2, Rainbow 6 Vegas 2, that kind of stuff) this looks more like a deathmatch shoot out. The multiplayer is acually detering me at this point.
