I'll state an example: On a level in God of War II, I came to an obstacle where I had to rotate a lever, jump up to a hook and hold myself there until I got to the top. And while I did this, I had to fight off a number of fire-shooting flies (or whatever they were). The thing was, that they would attack me while I rotated the lever, the enemies would stop me so it would rotate back. And when I finally got up to the hook, they would knock me off. I assumed there was some way to avoid the attacks, so for half an hour I tried to rotate the lever and get up while killing them. After that, I got so frustrated that I wanted to smash the controller and went to Gamefaqs for help. I then read, that you were actually supposed to smash the nests first, and then rotate and climb. I had just spent half an hour doing the wrong thing.
The question: Have this ever happened to you? You try to do something seemingly impossible to the point of frustration and psychotic break, and then realize you were doing the wrong thing the whole time and the solution is as simple as pressing a button. Like trying to open a jar of pickles for half an hour and getting worked up until you find out you were supposed to twist it the other way.
