theres not many games based on heists and i think this is a really good idea that would work well in a gaming environment. The player starts off low key by robbing a convience store and stealing a car to get away, as the campaign progresses you buy more equipment and you can hire skilled teammates (using the money you have earned), ofcourse everything you buy and everyone you hire is your decision and you will have to make each decision tactically.

there could even be a co-op mode where the players choose a target (depending on the difficulty level). the players then customise there loadouts to compliment each other for example youre gonna want one player who is good with vehicles to be the getaway driver, you want a player who is good with electronics to take out security systems and you need a player who has good weapons take out the fuzz when they arrive. when in the getaway process the more damage your car/van takes the more money you will lose

i think the concept would work well. theres obvious class structures, theres RPG elements (buying new kits as you earn money). theres a steady increase in challange and there could even be some special missions such as intercepting deliveries or kidnaps. theres also the idea of balancing stealth and gunz blazing, you could take down all the security systems and sneak into the vault (more expensive and more difficult but draws less police attention if done properly) or you could run in kill everything blow up the vault and blast your way out again

what do you guys think?

The Sly Cooper games are based around heists. Well, mostly the second and third games. You take control of one of three characters, and they each have a set of missions that help set up for the big heist at the end of each level. You can also buy special abilities for each character through collecting coins and stealing valuables from enemies.

You can buy these games in one collection for the PS3 for only around $40. I suggest you go out and get that game if you're looking for a game based around heists.

Check out the indie game Monaco - the graphics aren't flashy (closer to 8-bit), but you get to control a whole team and run the heist as you see fit.
