I got a call from my dad today. He told me he wanted to get a game he could play with his friends. The only previous experience he has had with gaming was about an hour with madden 09. He doesn't want a sports game because his friends are not into sports that much. He wants an adult game (That not being childish. No viva pinata or Lbp). Here is some info on my dad to help make a good decision.

He is VERRY quick tempered. Nothing too hard or he will break the controller with a hammer and set people on fire. But a challenge is still good. But not too hard.

He loves westerns. Any good stories like that of a western would be good.

He wants to play with freinds. But on the same couch. So co-op is a must.

He gets bored if nothing happens for around 2 minuets, so rpg's probubly arent the way to go.

I am thinking of giving him GUN because I already have it. I even thought he might like Left 4 dead.

Can I get some help here?

Not GUN, that has a lot of RPG elements. Left 4 Dead 2 is great idea: everyone wants to kill zombies.

If you don't count racing as a sport you could go for that. Might not be to good for the temper though (but which game is when you're losing?)I'm not sure about FPSs because most of them only support 2 player local coop, which is quite likely going to bore everyone who isn't playing.

L4D2 is a good one, how many friends will there be? If two RSV2 is an amazing game, also CoD MW2. Sorry for the acronyms I assume youl know what they mean.

Three is a little harder, I still suggest L4D2, and I cant think of a better one. Unless they like to take turns? Which honestly I doubt anyone does.

RE5 might not be a bad pick.

You might want to consider Red Dead Revolution when it comes out too.

Left 4 Dead 2 sounds good, although if he sucks and ends up dying several times in a row at the same spot it does get kind of boring.

Borderlands sounds solid besides for the fact that it is a fpsRPG (keyword: RPG)

Although there is one last thing that sounds like my the best choice, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, sure it is kind of childish, but it's probably one of the easiest to start playing with a group of friends, easy to learn, never gets boring.

My 2 cents.

Ah, Gun is a fantastic game. I'd say go for it. Doesn't have co-op though.

I agree that a Call of Duty game might be the way to go as well, but those are sorely lacking in co=op modes as well. I guess MW2 has some, but not through the campaign, annoyingly enough.

Try Gun. Great game.

My Dad plays Guild Wars, and he LOVES it. He's made lots of friends online, and genuinely finds it fun. My mum is more of a bejeweled-type player. Very good she is too.
