when I get older and if I ever learn how too create a videogame or something like that I'm planning of making a game about a guy with a gunblade. ((yeah I know sounds crappy already))

anywho. the gunblade I'm planning though would be like a hookshot and you'll be able too do aerial moves and stuff and do basicly a bit of spiderman stuff. and well I dunno if poeple would like that much. I talked to one of my freinds about some of the moves I would have him do ((one of the moves involves him shooting a guy with the blade twisting around him and pulling on the guy making him split into peice's or something)) but then thought that would be a lil bit over powered. so I went too thinking of some more but can't really think of any.

hell I dunno if I should even be remotely thinking of any of this right now counting on the fact I don't even know HOW to make a video game or anything of the sort. but hopefully I'll learn in college right...?
I dunno but I decided too put up the question on here and asking what people think of it.

so yeah put up what you think and blah blah blah...

:EDIT: I dunno. I've been thinking of this for an extremely long time ((if you count a year extreme)) and I never really got the chance too talk to people about it. I guess I just don't want the fighting system as crappy as spidermans.

If you don't start learning now you either won't get into one of those mediocre game design courses or will struggle.

Creating a game is extremely complex - why do you think the industry rarely hire people with no experience - games, such as as action game like you are suggesting are particularly difficult. So, yeah, I suggest you learn now - as its your idea you'll have to write design documents to let the rest of the team know exactly what you want. That means you'll have to write clearly, concisely and use great spelling and grammar - you can practise that by actually posting that way on the forum...

yeah thought about that alot too. like I said I dunno how to do much anyways. I'll see what I can't do in the mediocre highschool I'm in where if your not a football player you're turned away. feh. they do have a game creating thing there but I think its only flash games. but I must say there have been some pretty damn good flash games out there. like sonny and sonny 2. I liked both of those =P

That's all it'll be in college, I'm near certain...
welp thats pretty crappy. hm...well I did get into a little bit of something. I found this program a freind online showed me and he sent me a link on how to make a lightsaber for jediknight acadamy. well once I got into that and was almost done with it my computer got taken away and I didnt have a computer till like 4 months later and by then I forgot everything I knew. hell I didnt even get to finish my lightsaber.
meh no matter what when it comes down too it making a videogame takes a VERY long time and its hard work but I think in the end it would probably be worth it. but who knows. I'm still in the thinking stage's of this game anyways. and I'm only a sophmore so I guess I still gotta long time before I can get into a REALLY good stuff...right?

:EDIT: sophmore in highschool

Yeah, I think you should focus on your studies until you leave school, go to college and choose the areas you prefer. Whilst there learn code in your spare time and / or write design documents, when you feel prepared write a design document for your game - then put it away. Find a development group on an forum and use your skills to help them create a game; when you've gained that experience show them your idea.

But hey, I can't see the future so who knows...

well another thing I'm thinking is being an artist for it. kinda drawing what the characters look like and stuff. but really what I wanna do is just make a good story line. the way I want the attacks to look or something like that. I just wanna put what I have in my head into a reality. dunno if it'll happen but at the same time. noone can see the future so who knows. but this is something I kinda wanna stick too. been thinking about it for a year and its nice too know theres someone out their who'll atleast explain it atleast a little bit too me right?
