I am looking for a new headset to use in games.

I had Steelseries V2 USB (link: http://steelseries.com/products/audio/steelseries-siberia-v2-usb ) with my previous computer.
Now I have Creative Fatal1ty MkII (link: http://en.store.creative.com/headphones-headsets/fatal1ty-professional-series-gaming-headset-mkii/437-18703.aspx ) with Creative Sound Blaster X-fi (link: http://en.store.creative.com/sound-blaster/sound-blaster-x-fi-titanium-fatal1ty-professional-series/1-17791.aspx )
But comparing these two headsets, it is hard to perceive in Fatal1ty MkII where is the enemy and where comes the sound from.

I am not sure V2 USB is a "true surround" headset, but still gives the surround feeling very well. It supports different speaker configurations. MkII has only 2.1 configuration.
Creative console claims X-Fi CMSS-3D turns 2.1 setting into "virtual surround" like the V2 USB above.
However, I only hear sound improvings in songs, in games it doesn't effect much.

Question is, I want to change my headset but which one?

In Creative's website, I've seen Tactic3D Sigma (link: http://en.store.creative.com/headphones-headsets/sound-blaster-tactic3d-sigma/437-20167.aspx ), and they say with THX TruStudio Pro, "truly 3D Audio surround effects" come. But is it better in gaming? Is it at least good enough surround like the Steelseries V2 USB, or is it still 2.1 audio with fancy effects?

What is the difference between "true surround headsets" and "virtual surround headsets", I mean yes "true surround headsets" have individual speakers, but what about gaming?
For example Razer Tiamat (link: http://www.razerzone.com/tiamat/en ) is a true surround headset, but will it give better audio perception in games?
Razer Megalodon has also 7.1 support (link: http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_GB/pd/productID.169420200/parentCategoryID.35096300/categoryId.40856100 ), but it seems it is a "virtual surround headset".

There is an incoming Sound Blaster Recon3D series (link: http://en.store.creative.com/sound-blaster/sound-blaster-recon3d-fatal1ty-professional/1-20886.aspx ), but it hasn't any information on the website. Would upgrading X-Fi with Recon3D change anything if I choose to buy Razer Tiamat?

What you would suggest?

I have bought Sennheiser PC 333D after this topic, but I am not happy with it.
http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser/home_en.nsf/root/private_headsets_pc_pro-gaming_504126

It has wonderful sound quality, dolby button makes the sound even better. I am not sure about its surround performance, probably games don't give proper support for surround sound. even if they do, I can not distinguish the surround effects in game. Still, I like the sound.

There is two problem with this headset.

One is: It doesn't have sound volume adjuster button. In some videos I want to increase the volume to hear the dialogs, or in Skype to hear my friends talk over games. Even if the windows, skype or media player volume settings are %100. For those videos I "normalize" the sound from the settings, but it also decreases the sound quality. I wish there were a volume button on the headset (or its sound card).

And the other one is: The headset squeezes my head like a clothespin/peg. My ears become numb when I put the headsets on. After a long usage, it also tires a lot. I tried different angles and adjustments but it still hurts my ears.

Because of these two problem, I want to change my headset again.
Is there any suggestion?

I was thinking Razer Tiamat 7.1, it seems interesting, but it is still not available.
