If you realize it was your fault, (remember I know nothing other than what you said, I may have missed the point) maybe you should just take it. Don't do anything, and let the guy be. If he feels that things have become even, and doesn't continue to bother you, I don't see a reason to continue pestering him.

I've got to say, getting revenge against this guy for that is pretty pathetic. If you're going to do something back to him, at the very least try to throw in a "This is what a real prank is like" or something along those lines.

Next time you're in one their houses and they need to go to the toilet rush there before them and take a shit in the cistern. That'll learn 'em.
Burn his book bag. With his stuff in it. And video it. Then send it to him. Mean while, you take every book, and roll paint over ever page. Then coat his locker in a thin layer of glue through his locker, letting him set all his stuff in it, and have it all stick there so he must damage it to get it out.
And for good measure, be sure to sure to place the rotting carcass of an animal in it, preferrably in a place where he wont see/be able to remove it.
And finally, the daddy to end it all, as he's walking down the stairs, be sure to sling your backpack into his knees, sending him hurtling down them while he can only look at you in a pained stunned silence.
It all works best if you can manage it in one day, which, while difficult, is not impossible, and is EXCEEDINGLY rewarding if you can.

Take all the stuff out of his bag, turn the bag inside out, replace stuff, laugh when he can't find his bag and slowly realises the stange lump of similar coloured material sitting nearby is actually it. The longer he takes to work it out the funnier it becomes.
