I think this speaks more about No Man's Sky than anything else. The fact that someone can (effectively) recreate the game in DOOM 2 in three weeks really makes you wonder what the hell Hello Games were doing.

P.S. Yes, I know they had to make the engine and 3D models, as opposed to carboard cutouts. They still spent three years making that game, so frankly I don't care.

To Miss Quote ZP

Their development team is probably full of limbless fat cats... or chimpanzees.

That is amazing, this kids is what you should do if you want to convince any large company to hire you into a respectable position. The guy has some hefty skill to pull this off in 3 weeks.
Not really the same as No Man's Sky, sure the game is simple but you obviously get a much higher production value.

Truly a masterpeace.

Considering that this was done in 3 weeks, I wonder if this will surpass the original with a few more months of work.

DOOM's modding community never ceases to amaze and amuse. It's fascinating to see all the different ways they've utilized a decades old game engine to create just about anything.

I can't help but wonder how much of the game was lost during that flood. Maybe they really did lose almost everything and they had to start almost from scratch. Perhaps they just couldn't deliver on the original idea because of that, but they didn't want to discourage potential buyers so they kept their mouth shut.

I have to wonder if it would be technically possible to get multiplayer working on this.

I doubt it but hey who knows.

"There is probably lots that doesn?t match up to the game, but I?ve yet to get round to playing it, so just went with what I saw in the trailer."

The guy hasn't played the game.

Keep in mind that I'm not defending the game here (I haven't played it either), but I think it's worth mentioning that the guy hasn't played the game.
