I just bought myself a new PS3, and I'm having a little trouble connecting to the network. I've set it up, and in the home section it tells me that the connection works, but when I load Modnation Racers (the only game I have with online multiplayer), it says, 'connection lost' as soon as I start to play. I try to connect again, and it tells me that it can't find the connection, and, once, that the connection timed out. I'm using a wireless router which, although slow, covers the whole house (as we have those things that you plug into the wall to extend coverage) at a fairly reliable standard, and the Wii (in the same room as the PS3) has no problems getting online.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

*threadbump* this is kind of important, I've got one chance to go into town for the next week if there's anything i need to get to fix this, and nothing else to do.

Sounds like you have a problem with port forwarding through the router. The routers firewall is blocking the communication most likely. Try looking up port forwarding for the router you have on the internet.
