Well this thread wouldn't really fit in any forum, so I decided to post it in my favorite one (Mods, feel free to lock, or delete if need be).

I was wondering, what stops people from posting in a certain thread, especially if it has some activity. For instance, I have made some threads, that in a mere few hours, reached a few pages long, then suddenly, boom, no one bothers to post anymore. I have also seen some good threads, which got little to no replies.

So what gives?

EDIT: Oops, I totally forgot about that section (Duh moment). Could a mod move this?

Well, if they dont have anything to say, they cant post and keep it going, so it just dies, it also depends on the amount of people logged on, if they arent much people logged on at the time you post it, no more people can add any other posts to it and it might die.

Quite often everything there is to say will have already been said, so people viewing the thread later will have nothing to post.
Also, this fits perfectly into the off-topic forum, just read the title.
