To my Dearest Escapist,
I have often found myself debating such tough philosophical concepts of whether love at first sight is genuine, if love can be eternal and even if love exists at all, beyond a series of programmed responses in my 1.5kg of gray matter. But then I met you and made me see something. That even if all love is arbitrary, even if love isn't quantifiable, even if love is just methods and variables, it does not matter, for what I feel makes me feel good and that is all the reality I need.
You make me feel good.
You have shown me that gaming can be passionate, fun and intellectual all at once. That sometimes beyond the hype and marketing machine, there are real people and real companies that just want to do what they love. You have shown me that gaming articles don't have to be lowbrow, that sometimes journalism can be as real about fantasy, as it is about any other topic. You are incredible to me.
You make me feel good.
I cannot make promises here that I may not be able to keep. Some day perhaps I will find another, better gaming publication, but you will be the publication upon which all others will be judged. You will be the publication that delivered me from the in your face, uncultivated, wrong demographic articles of my past. I thank you for that. Please don't ever change.
With much love,
Daniel
