A monologue flowed through my head: You've bumped into the magical maguffin of eternity, it goes through the standard "three wishes" speech and you're left to ponder for as long as you desire, you can't wish for more wishes, all of the standard rules.

And it's at this point that something strikes me: What if my first wish is that my following two wishes are beneficial to humanity and the entire universe?

Do you think that some cynical/ironic causative chain would happen or would things be hunky dory?

You didn't specify to what degree those following two wishes would be beneficial. It could be as grandiose as helping to cure cancer, or as insignificant as making sure the next piece of litter you drop from a candy wrapped is picked up by the wind and flies into a rubbish bin. As for something ironic happening, well, if something beneficial to humanity occured, it may include the destruction or death of rare animals and fauna so we may further develop, and if beneficial to the universe, may result in the death of mankind. (We are the worst parasites on the planet, after all) So if there was a combination of the two? Paradox! The universe creates a black hole, everything is sucked inside, then it expands and we have a second big bang and creation of the universe.

As a mere human, you can't KNOW what's definitely good for humanity on the long run... So i guess you'd be transformed into something else. You'd become some sort of powerless but all-knowing god with infinite wisdom.

So if there was a combination of the two? Paradox! The universe creates a black hole, everything is sucked inside, then it expands and we have a second big bang and creation of the universe.

I had meant that my next two wishes would be both beneficial for humanity and the universe in the long-run, such as we figure out how to recycle our resources without any loss and we figure out how to make suns not eventually blow up and take out the planets around them, which could be justified as being good for the universe as than more planets with suns exist, meaning more chance for sentient life to form.

As a mere human, you can't KNOW what's definitely good for humanity on the long run... So i guess you'd be transformed into something else. You'd become some sort of powerless but all-knowing god with infinite wisdom.

My next two wishes would probably be God powers and immortality with no physical or other forms of degradation if that were so.
