Jesus I don't know if I even have a normal day. I'll give it my best shot though.

1:00pm- Alarm goes off.
2:00pm- Actually get up.
2:30pm- Turn on PC for MSN/text some people.
4:00pm- Argue with friends about what to do for the rest of the day (we are a picky bunch)
4:01pm- Play some Xbox.
6:00pm- Decide to go get pissed/high/round a friends house/cinema.
???
4:00am- Fall into bed.

Woke up, got out of bed
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up, i noticed i was late
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke
Somebody spoke and i went into a dream

Just A Day in the Life.

I'm a uni student, my pattern is less of a pattern and more of a dysfunctional, erratic series of events.

Right now I'm on (winter) holidays, so I do a whole lot of nothing (working wednsday and sunday nights), however this weekend I'm working 3 day shifts (fri, sat, sun...I dive on any weekend work available to me). This isn't uncommon and I take such shifts whenever they are available.

During term, if it's summer I tend to timetable so all my classes are monday/tuesday/wednsday (meaning I have like 24 contact horus in 3 days) then work thursday/friday (as well as my regular night shifts, last summer I worked 5 40 hour weeks on top of uni in a row, with no day off, as well as another 3 or so after that with one day off, shiftwork is fun). This forces me into a cycle of early mornings and early nights, getting up around the 0700 mark and crashing well before 2200.

Summer holidays are an endless grind of working 0800-1700 with as many weekend or night shifts as humanly possible, it won't slow down unless I get sick (which is yet to happen, there is no sleep pattern here due to nightshifts, the only consistant thing is I get up around 0700). If it isn't summer I spread out my timetable more and try to avoid morning classes wherever possible (meaning I can sleep in to about 1030), I also spend a lot of time socializing (In the past week I've spent one night in my own bed as I've been sleeping at mates houses *not sleeping around with the girls unfortunately*, this is not unusual for this time of year).

Because of my irratic work patterns my sleep pattern is somewhat broken and I have no real cycle, it also means that for several months a year I have very little contact with my friends (which gets hard after a while). The upside is I have a lot of money to blow, have proven I'm independant by earning enough money (which means I now qualify for government checks, how such a retarded system came to be I'll never understand). I hope to put down a deposit on a house near uni next year and lease out rooms, so basicially if all goes as planned my hard work should pay off within 5-10 years (seems appropriate to give some insight to my motivations for sacraficing my social life and general wellbeing).

My days differ a lot, and I mean a whole lot.
For example, yesterday I was at the university from 8h to 13h, then we learned for the next exams until 20h. Today, I only went to the university.
A few weeks ago, I worked a lot in the laboratory and in a few weeks, I'll be hiking.
And even right in the middle of the semester, my days differ immensely because we have different subjects and lectures (and thus a different timetable) every week.
I don't have "normal days".

Wake up at about 7:00 or 7:30am.
Shower and get dressed, if I'm working I'll pack my uniform in a bag.
I'll read or go on the PC till about 9:00.
If I'm working then I'll go to work, come home any time from 2:30 to 3:30 and shower again.
If not and it's a "happy day", I'll go out and run some errands, feed ducks, shop or go on a bike ride.
If it's a "down day", I'll stay in, watch a movie, stay on the PC or bake stuff.
At about 5:30 I have to start doing domestic stuff, chores etc.
After I've finished them I'll either go to the park with friends or if it's too cold and weather's gone bad, stay in, do some "work" and be on the PC.
Any time between 7:00 and 9:00 is when I have dinner.
Then I kill time brutally talking to friends, on the PC, watching TV and I go to bed any time between 11:30 and 3:30 or whenever I start to feel tired.

You may have noticed I haven't put in any times for breakfast and lunch, that is because I do not eat breakfast or lunch. I sometimes snack (healthily: pasta salad, apples etc.) in the afternoon if I start to feel a bit peckish.

Weekends:
If I'm not working or clubbing or running errands (like washing clothing or buying groceries and whatnot) VIDEO GAMES GLORIOUS VIDEO GAMES! Hey I have a very stressful and physical job. Don't blame me for enjoying my games or the internet.

Constant pain in muscles and limbs... constant bleeding and inhaling of nasty things. No one will ever thank me or anyone else doing this. Media and general public blames you for all things that are wrong. Also everyone is stupid. Life is good.

Never said that, you could be having tea for all I know. Tea is quite enjoyable.
I like you, youre honest. Im actually not that bad, i do tend to have more girl-friends than guys. Not sure why. Im quite the gentleman though, believe it or not.
I'm sure you are a gentleman. Sometimes it's the gentleman you have to worry about.

Wake up

consider going for a jog.

discount going for a jog after remembering the hideous cramp i got last time.

pick up my basketball to go shoot some hoops.

put down basketball when i remember i don't have a hoop.

give up on the physical fitness for now, and grab a bowl of rice krispies.

come on the forums, start a thread, beat up my self esteem when i start a repeat thread, log off all the worse for wear.

rudely interrupted by my friends, whilst still in my pyjamas, asking me if i want to go out.

get dressed and grab my basketball, head out with friends.

never use ball, walk along bitching about social bullshit, like:
"I love her but she kissed another guy"
"I hate that bastard shaun and his crew"
"I'm immortal!"
"Lewis, Ball!"
Bounce pass to lewis out of the blue, lewis misses ball, hits face.
lewis bounce passes back, i catch ball, go for the slam dunk, then remember i don't have a hoop.

Go in at about 7, maybe play computer games, maybe watch tv, maybe come back here and beat my self esteem some more. colonel cathcart raises number of missions i have to fly. run to the hospital screaming, "I see everything twice!"

fall asleep.

anyone get the literature reference? i was trying to channel joseph heller.
