A pattern in the Paper Mario games.

If any of you played all of the Paper Mario games, you probably had this thought (though I highly doubt it). As those who played Super Paper Mario, you know you can control 4 characters, Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser. 3 out of the 4 were bosses, and also final bosses. In the first game, the first, and final, boss was obviously Bowser with the Star Rod. The second game was Peach possessed by the Shadow Queen. And last but not least Luigi fused with Dimentio to make Super Dimentio.

Notice where this is going? Every playable main character (save Mario) of the third Paper Mario was a final boss (willing or no), and two of them were recurring (Bowser and Luigi). So, if we continue this pattern, will the next final boss be Mario himself? To keep balance will he just be a final boss like Peach, not recurring?

Discuss this theory (I do not claim it as my own).

The new one looks suspiciously similar in design to the first, so I don't know how much of a new plot there might be. SPM almost felt like the capper to a trilogy with the way the games continuously upped the stakes with each incarnation (gather the McGuffins to Save the Princess/The World/The ENTIRE UNIVERSE). Just where do you go from there?

I would like to see Wario make an appearance, maybe even as the final boss if augmented by some kind of dark power. In that series so far the only mention he's gotten was the badge that let you take on his colours. He hasn't had a serious antagonist role since his intro in Super Mario Land 2, mainly just appearing in the Party/Sports games.

That actually is an interesting thought; and would work out extremely well if they did that actually.

I mean, who DOESN'T want to use your other friends to help take down the same character you've been playing for 85% of the game?

I'm serious though, the thrill of something like that's amazing xD
