I tried to log into PayPal today and got this message:-

Now, is this legit? I've gotten emails off of "paypal" too saying that my account has been limited until I give this information, but in this age of internet scumbags you cant be too careful.

I've done searches on this issue too, most replies have either been people suspicious of this page and the other half just saying "enter your card number".......but I'm not too sure, any thoughts or insight?

Update: I just tried logging in on my phone and get the same page.....more confused

I dunno, download Malwarebytes and run a scan, see what it finds.
Thanks for that program, it found a fair few things on the system that I didnt know were there, but the problem still persists.

Although I've now tried to log in on my pc, my mums pc, my laptop, my phone, my iPod and all are bringing the same thing up, so I'm starting to think it might be legit even though I've never heard of this things before.

Thanks for your time anyway.

Are you employed or do you visit a school? If so, try to log in from a PC at work or at school and see what happens. It does sound like its legit, but better safe than sorry.

(By the way, doesnt Paypal have some kind of support? Or can you only access that if you are properly logged in? Legitimate question.)
I asked one of the PayPal guys on their forums and he said that it was often a standard practice if you've signed in on various machines/devices. He said that I should enter one piece of info and then change my password afterwards. I also rang up the support center and they said that it happens sometimes as a security measure, so I guess it was all above board in the end.

Just seemed very strange at first glance.

Here is paypal's customer service number: 888-221-1161. Maybe try calling them to see if they can help you? It's always better to be safe than sorry!
