I guess it would what Naruto is trying to achive- a world where everyone fully "understand" each other so I guess that be like being friends with everyone. Now that is fantasy (I doubt such a thing would be possisble).

I would have to say a socialist regime with technology capable of supporting it.
For instance, technology has replaced all laborers, and the only work done would be by people who WANT to do that work.
Eugenics would be adopted as part of a larger policy for global population control. We may have robots to do out bidding, but too many people will ruin it.
That's about the only way socialism will work, if we have robots to enslave to take care of things.

In a perfect world, society would give a damn about people over the age of 50. The way care for the elderly is bought, traded and sold as trivially as Mars Bars is a sick, sick joke.

That would be a world where I was a normal citizen of an all-female (except for me) village. This would be the only human-inhabited place on earth. Where all the females had personalities that roughly fit with my ideal woman.

There would be an abundance of resources for all, obliterating the need for a monetary system. Cooperation, prosocial behavior, maturity, kindness, and humility should be essential parts of the culture.

Never going to happen, but if I'm dreaming of perfection I'm going as far as I can. Though, now that I think about it, such a place might be a tiny bit frightening to live in.

Just caught up with my own thread. Interesting thoughts from some of you. A lot of you are broad in their thoughts for a perfect society; such as those of you who believe that it should be Socialist. Others, chose to talk about what makes up a society (which I prefer). But anywho, I guess I'll divulge my thoughts in a nutshell, however crazy they may be.

Let's see, healthcare is universal. That is a must. The people don't mind taxes (which is something that people in the U.S. may call crazy to think of). Education is highly valued. You can't have a great economy without skilled workers; workers that work towards production of goods that people need and certain luxuries. Really, that may get a little hard to define. Umm, I'll give an example or two. Blankets, yes. Snuggies, no. Stylish jeans, sure. Bedazzler, no. Technology is an essential part of human culture and life, but so is nature. We must have a balance, lest we leave our mother for good. No political parties. This is something I thought of recently. We don't need parties. People should just run in a general election; voted through a plurality vote. Each person represents their own views. Then again, I'm even fighting with myself over this as the authoritarian side of me would like leaders that do what they can to uphold the values of a society (so long as that society is already in an ideal position). People aren't so lazy. Men and women are fit. Kids are respectful. Eugenics is practiced, but not as liberally as some may think... ("Oh, your nose is ugly... no kids for you!") Instead, we could at least keep people with mental problems from breeding. Or, those with certain hereditary ailments. Maybe even those unfit to live in this society! (Sorry, the inner madness is leaking out a bit.)

That was a long paragraph. Starting a new one for the sake of it. Let's see, striving for advances in science is another thing. For real life society, I guess I believe that use of all drugs should be legal at the age of 18, with deterrents in place to keep addicts from continuing with their bad habits. It's their choice if they want to or not, though. Not sure if this could be applied to this society. I guess if we allow some drugs such as marijuana (which I have used), LSD (which I'm interested in) and some others, then that would be fine.

I feel like I'm missing something, so I'll leave it to you, the reader, to remind me.

Right...
Perfect society is a society like Socialism, only you never need to eat, sleep, drink, have sex and live forever. I think that some people call it "Heaven".
I just call it being dead.
Oh, cuz 'life' is just sooh amazing. What with this thing called pain, and the fact that most of us are going to have our dreams and hearts broken, and a list of unfullfilled wishes and desires.

Most of us are going to be someone's ***** with the associated perforated bowel for being assraped that hard.

Most of us are going to be failures. Most of us are broke. Most f us are going to have ungrateful families we will have to slave over. Most of us are going to be servants... if we're lucky.

Most of us are going to die forgotten, who have done nothing noteworthy and made no effect onto future society.

Perhaps being dead isn't so bad, isn't it?
Well when you think about it that way....You tend to think you're one really depressed person.

Or you're just depressing, yes, there's a difference!

Also, orgasm, look into it, and have some. It'll do you some good.
Seriously, that is a very bleak outlook of life that you have.

A perfect world for me would be one that lacks the arbitrary value systems we currently have like status (be it financial, class, race, whatever) & morality/religion (and the politics of both). Instead replace this with an ethical system based solely on a logical calculus of concrete benefit vs. hindrance (like a well developed hedonistic calculus, utilitarianism, or consequentialism) & a realized assumption that everyone is equal. Further eliminate legal distinctions of marriage, race, sex, and age beyond adult and non-adult. Marriage could still exist, but it'd be treated as the social &/or religious ritual it is and not some state governed arrangement. Eliminate all current laws and rebuild them based upon the new ethical system (which should prevent laws that discriminate against a demographic, ones that are based upon a religion, and victimless crime).

Ideally, all labor that can be, should be handled by automated systems, people should work if they have a desire to, either money is a thing of the past or basic costs of living, education, & healthcare are entirely paid for.

Eliminate all concepts of artificial division like genetics, nation, heritage, etc.

Lastly, make advancement (in all forms) of the self & species the primary directive for society, it would be awesome if we became a society of scientists, artists, & philosophers. Gaining functional immortality through gene therapy, body replacement, etc would be pretty sweet too.

A world that treats all humans as humans rather than based off of the color of their skin. A world where people can be heard and their voices are listened to.

I like the way things are, so much conflict. The world constantly creates new and exciting stories. I really enjoy the chaos of it all.

Just remembered welfare and jobs; and I'd like to touch upon some things you mentioned, smv. :)

For starters, welfare. I would go with the plan that Jimmy Carter discussed during the election of...1980, I believe. Although, there wouldn't really be a need for a welfare system in a perfect society. :p Jobs... You can have any job that you have the training for and is not already done by or can be done by machines, but everyone must have at least one year in customer service... They just have to. Everyone is entitled to a job.

Now, for what you mentioned, smv. Let's see... Total equality, I agree with that. Marriage, you mentioned social and religious, I agree with social. The funny thing is, I didn't really think about marriage in this envisioned society until now, heh.

Oh, I'll get back to your post in a second. Just wanted to throw this in. No religion in my society. We are a logical people.

Back to you. Oh, I don't agree with marriage being between anyone or anything. The only restricions I want on it: You must be at least 18. You must be human.

Conception of children is another thing. That falls under the whole eugenics thing.

I love your last paragraph. I fully agree with that. Maybe it's just that yearning within me for a return to a Romanesque or somewhat Greek culture where the people respected and loved the arts and the human form. A time whence people thought of why they are, rather than how they came to be.
