Some friends and I are thinking of starting up an animated series that focuses on a video game character. I've been assigned as the lead writer and there's this one idea that I wanna play around with. Now I've already told my friends and they seem cool with it but I wonder what my fellow Escapists think.
The basic concept is this. A fictional, popular video game character discovers that both he and his universe has been changed as the result of a revamp/reboot on the part of his company trying to improve sales. The series would basically deal with how he adjusts to the changes, recognizing his existence and the ever changing relationships he shares with the rest of the cast, while trying to live his life (actually the new game being played during Beta Testing).
As you can see its a very "Meta" orientated story with various layers of meta-fiction. I'm fairly confident I can make this work as a "Dramedic" series and my friends seem excited. What do you guys think?
