While at first it sounds like a pro-cocaine statement, there's just something about the sentence that sounds depressing about it, like the "dreams" aren't what you want, or that the dreams come from being under drug-influence, a drug-influence you can't escape from, hence the "chained to your mirror and your razorblade".
Maybe I'm over-analyzing it, but I'm fascinated by it.

One of mine is the second-to-last line of "The Metro" cover by System of a Down. Now, in the original version by Berlin, it goes "I remember hating you for loving me" delivered in a flat, synth-pop-esque voice-it's practically a monotone. When Serj Tankian sings the revised line, it is much different.
At what sounds to be from the bottom of his lungs, he bellows the new line "FUCK YOU FOR LOVING ME".
Now maybe things are different for you, but that was very powerful to me. The emotion in his voice is, to me at least, very indicative of his mood. I felt as though I had been drawn into the "story" the song had been spinning the entire time. The phrase itself shocked me to my very core. I could never imagine that kind of thing ever being said.
I think SOAD took a song and gave it new meaning and life. That line is almost haunting to me.

Thats a pet peeve of mine, a "gangster" bastardizing the bible.S.R.S. said:
Like I said I am not religious but don't be a hypocrite by putting out this imagine of being a "badass" gangster, who we all know kill, then quote something that is all about "peace and love" to make a song sound better.
Just not my thing, I do like some rap, mainly eminems' stuff, so it's not like I just hate the whole genre.
