Hello Escapist. For a big assignment at school we need to present something, anything we want on any kind of format as long as we do it in French and we stand out front. I want to make it really special, so I was thinking I'd like to do a presentation where, instead of a PowerPoint static image, there is a video running in slow motion in the background with the letters coming on the front. At first I thought I'd use Windows Movie Maker to do this but I don't think it has all the tools I need.

Can you guys give me suggestions?

Twixtor, I used the program myself for slow-mo and it's quite handy and does a nice, smooth job of it. It's a plugin though, so you will have to download a different editing software such as Sony Vegas Pro 10,11 or Adobe After Effects. Since it's only for a school project, I'd recommend Sony vegas because it's easier to use and can get the same, and sometimes better results than Adobe after effects which is quite complicated for a novice. You have to buy both softwares, Sony vegas and Twixtor. But,*cough* there's always torrents and guides for free ones *cough*.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NICfSSf6_w guide on how to download and install it for sony vegas, you'll have to find a separate guide for downloading sony vegas though.

Hope this helps

Oh, video editing. I was hoping someone was asking for a program that let you slo-mo in real life.

You can adjust the speed of footage in pretty much all major editing programs. However I am unfamiliar with Movie Maker.
