That is a long and complicated story. I left out the details to avoid getting flooded with "TL

R" posts. Besides it's not important, what I want to know is if this site/service can be trusted. If it's bugging you that much, all right I'll tell you. *deep breath* I'm a Dragon Ball fan right, and as far as dubbed versions go everyone knows that the franchise was dubbed for uh... America by Funimation studios, yes? What may be less well known is that sometime around 2001 or so, another dub was produced for broadcast in Canada by The Ocean Group out of Vancouver B.C. which coincidently coincided with when I first got into the franchise, so at first it was the only dub I knew of. Once the only TV channel in Canada the carried the shows stopped carrying them, I sought to acquire the episodes on DVD, (I had already seen most of 'em, but I had become a enthralled, go figure) I also played a few of the video games. It was then that I noticed some marked differences between the some of the voices and dialogue and the music in the episodes I found on DVD and some of the video games (in the video games it was just the voices) and what I remembered watching before and I couldn't figure out what was going on. Upon doing a bit of research I found the answer, which I already explained above, two different dubs. The problem is only the Funimation one is commercially available on DVD and apparently through torrent too. I've scoured torrents looking, I didn't care if it was legal, I mean apparently what I desired couldn't be acquired legally; but all I ever came across was Funimations work. I even tried emailing YTV (the channel that used to carry the shows) to see if they'd sell them to me (it was my cousin's suggestion), all I ever got out of that was a generic auto reply.
So there you have it. That's what I've been searching for, the dub of Dragon Ball Z & GT (and the original too it possible) as done by the Ocean Group.
