I am wondering, I know you can skip over a lot of the story by going straight to James in vault whatever, but I'm curious how many have tried getting into Little Lamplight and Vault 87 to retrieve the GECK, shall we say a little bit early.

Just curious, I imagine it has been tried, just wondering on the results before I go to work.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was possible, but I haven't tried.

Honestly I try to stay as far away from the main quest as possible.

Actually, you can skip even further than that with some jumping tricks.

Its possible to go straight for the Brotherhood of Steel (and get inside) right after you step outside the Vault, you can skip all of Tranquillity Lane

Also, yes you can go right to Lamplight, you just need to level once and take the Child at Heart perk to make it past the front door.

Can't you just use the console to start at the final mission?

Seems like the easiest way to me.

Or, you could just not play at all! It's exactly the same!
OT: No idea.

Or you could play it backwards! Then just skip everything and start a new game!

It's the exact opposite!

Or, you could go outside and I've run out of ideas...
