A Question About Eugenics

Its a hard path not to follow. As we progress it will become easier to make massive changes like this. As fewer ask weather or not we should. Science is definately pushing the idea of it because its alot easier to change us to adapt to the universe than to adapt the universe to us. But we can't be certain one way or another what those changes will bring.

I'm all for uplifting the human race by means of genetic tampering.
I also think evey woman and man capable of passing on their genes should first pass a 'parenting test' before being allowed to have children.
The test should involve: physical health, financial status and emotional stability of the person in question so they can care well for a possible child.

It wouldn't work. Evolution doesn't have levels, it's a very subtle and branching path, and there is no "good" traits. A species doesn't get "better" it adapts to it's environment.

Also, diversity is very important to a species survival. Very, very important. It allows the species to spread and survive if a part of it dies off. Eugenics is a stupid justification for ethnic cleansing, and it wouldn't work in any kind of practical application.
