So, me and my girlfriend shared an Xbox hard drive and I downloaded some Dragon Age DLC (all of them, infact) to the hard drive, then I got the new Xbox and recovered my profile, but when my girlfriend goes to play the DLC on the old Xbox it says the data for the DLC is corrupted and to try downloading them again.
Is there any reason why they aren't working for her anymore? (Before I recovered my GT they worked perfectly)

Any help would be appreciated.

is it still on the same HDD but a different console?

Yea, I don't think the xbox likes that. I think when you dl something it basically gets written to that HDD only as far as I know.

If you copied the DLC the copy might be corrupted. If you tried redownloading it, maybe the DLC stopped downloading for whatever reason. That kind of thing has happened to me.

To further explain, I recovered my GT to the new xbox, but I did not download the DLC again, it was still on the old xbox (I have the new, 'slim' xbox whereas she is still on an original one)

When you DL something Microsoft marks it with the console ID (or whatever it is). That DLC can be played by any profile on that XBOX. If the DLC that DLC is also put on a second XBOX then the only profile that can play it on the second xbox is the owner and only while connected to the internet.

OP: If you verified your new console as well as recovered your GT then that is were your problem lies. Other then that I have no clue. Perhaps you should put your GT back on the XBOX and re download.

Ok, so I just tried this and it still wouldn't work unless my profile was signed in on a second controller, I thought that was just on another console?

Yeah, that is how it is suppose to work. Weird. XboxLive apparently knows about your new console and isn't happy. LOL, :(

I am honestly not sure what happen simply moving your GT to another xbox hasn't cause that problem in the passed.

Actually if you're willing to get on the phone with Microsoft they can transfer the ownership to the new console ID and then you don't have to be online/ on the dlc'ers profile to use it on the new Xbox.

You can now do this via the internet, but doing this will make the DLC on the old xbox unusable to any one other then the owning profile and only while connected to the internet.

The problem as I understand it is that the OP move his GT to his new console which broke the DLC on the old console even though he did nothing else not even DL the DLC on the new XBOX.

That's the problem exactly.

Haha no. They will ask you to fax in the reciept first if you used your yearly license transfer already. Then they will tell you they can't read said fax and to resend it. And keep resending it every day until the year has passed and you can then use your license transfer again.

I went through that.

Ah my condolences on that. We hadn't used ours so they were quite sunny and expedient about it. Nice to know what would await us if we had to transfer twice in a year though. And by nice I mean terrifying.

Oh yes the stupidity of it was astounding. I went as high as I could on the food chain but could not get a result. You would think that MS would at the very least let you email a copy or snail mail the reciept (or copy of reciept). What killed me was this was during the time when the RROD was a major problem (before the jasper chip) so you would think they would have a better system.

I am happy to see that they got rid of Max though. That bot annoyed me to no end lol.

Your profile needs to be the one signed in. Only your account can play the DLC as far as I know. You could get the game of the year edition.
