A quick Mass Effect Question

Okay, ground rules. Let's not turn this into a ME3 ending hate thread or a sob session about the EC. That's not what I'm here for.

Right now that that's over with, I have a question. I'm just now getting around to playing Mass Effect 1, and I like it enough to want to play the other two. Here's the question I have. It seems ME3 is only available on Origin, and I have ME1 and 2 on Steam. Am I able to import my save across the platforms, or do I have to treat ME3 as a standalone?

Word of warning, for some reason faces don't cross over, I lost my Shepard's face when I got ME3. Granted he was an ugly mofo, but he was MY ugly mofo ;_;

Aye, that would seem to be a bug that Bioware didn't think was important enough to fix. And don't think you can get around it by manually entering the codes from the old games. Still won't work.

Same happened with my first Shepard. However, it worked fine for my second one. So either it only happens sometimes, or they fixed that bug in between my two playthroughs.
