A quick question about Arcanum?

I'm playing Arcanum, and I have a dwarf in my party.
Do they use small or normal armor?
Also, are there certain clothing items that NPCs refuse to use? I can't get my party members to wear better clothing.

I just started playing myself, but I'm pretty sure dwarfs use small armor. Ogres need large armor, but other than that idk
