Well, I'll jump right to the point.
I am writing a mock magazine for school, in which I have chosen to do a spoof on the existing magazines guitar world, and rolling stone, but in Rock band format. That means Im writing from a perspective where the peripherals and game play of rock band are taken much more seriously than they ever should be, and in fact replaced all other forms of entertainment. But where you come in(or where I'd like you to) is a letter's to the editor section where I'm looking to use real people instead of making up some questions and answers. I'm asking you to write a letter, the length being your choice, in which you might ask, comment, or attempt to discuss the goings on in rock band or guitar hero. Dont be afraid to get creative! I'm not being picky about what Im looking for, and as long as it pertains to the subject, Im open to basically all entries. Obviously, I'll credit you in my work with any information you provide(Name, etc.) and am really just hoping to get a little more intrigue into this peice.

If any, or all of this was too vague for you, but you feel like you might be interested in participating, PM me and I'll explain in a little more detail. Other than that, just post your entries in here, and I'll PM you an update on what I did with them.

Thanks in advance!

Dear "insert mag title here"
Dear god am I sick of Queen pulling this stuff. as if it wasn't bad enough they stopped playing "Killer Queen", now they've gone and perverted it. At last nights Branston show, after Brian had smashed his controller and Roger had kicked over his pads, they brought over a new kind of controller. Freddie called it a Grand Piano, but I'd never seen anything like it before. no wires so it must have been wireless. anyway, they gave brian a different controller as well. It was bigger, rounder, and i couldnt see any buttons or a pull lever! oh and Roger's pads. they were about three times as big, and there was little metal things around them that sort of, clicked when he hit them. anyway, so he started clicking his fingers, and using these new controllers played killer queen.

now while i'm glad they have started playing it again, it's really, different sounding. for one thing, Brian's controller sounds very different. oh, and one time when Roger missed a beat, he just performed a sort of, roll, which brought everyone back in. there was even a point where Freddie's track was by itself! I've never seen anything like it

Look, i'm all up for bands trying new things with their controllers, but lets be honest. nobody wants to watch experimental gameplay on stage. especially not in an old favorite style song. Wake up Queen

Dear....,

As we stand on the brink of a music revolution, dare I say it a cultural revolution, I cannot help but scoff at those who would still confine our definitions of a good rock song to someone who can hit 99% of the notes. How can we be defined by such paltry, such industry created standards? What about the great work of Gituar20056, whose carefully timed missed notes scratch and syncopate with the music in ever more graceful, ever evocative ways? Or the musical lyricism of Hashmutha23, whose groundbreaking 5% notes hit of 'I Wanna Be Sedated' was greeted with a standing ovation??? The great Lester Bangs, whose writings spawned an entire generation of 'Guitar Heroes', once wrote: "Every great work of art has two faces, one toward its own time and one toward the future, toward eternity." How else can our music, our very souls, move towards that eternity if we do not break the molds of today?

Dear -------

Any word yet if there's going to be any Led Zeppelin DLC? I first heard Led Zeppelin a few years ago at my friend's house on a CD player. We listened to a couple songs before the police busted down the door, confiscated the CD player, and dragged my friend off. I haven't seen him since... I would love to see Led Zeppelin on RB!

Dear...,

What is with your lack of 80's Hair Bands? Why don't you ever feature the greats that took rock to the pinnacle of greatness back then. Foreigner, the greatest band ever, in my opinion, actual wrote a song called "Juke Box Hero" about a guy who bought and learned how to play a guitar, and yet I have never once seen it appear in one of your shows. The were the ORIGINAL LEGENDS OF ROCK! And now, now you have bands that barely play real rock as your "Legends." When is the Guitar Hero: UB40 Edition coming out? When will they stop playing crap and bring back the real Heroes? What about Europe, Asia, Journey, The Eagles... There are dozens of great 80's bands who had "Guitar Heroes," yet none of them are ever seen anymore? Why Not?

First off, I agree, foreigner's awesome. That being said, Jukebox hero is actually in both Rock band and Guitar Hero 3. However, It's downloadable content, so if your on the ps2 you cant exactly enjoy it. But its there! and they havent forgot foreigner, only you. Which sucks in own right.

But wow guy's, keep up the good work. All the entries so far have been great.

Dear *MAG NAME*

I have serious issue with the latest model guitars, the pink button on mine (a GH1 original) is a good deal further out than those released recently with the Guitar Hero 3 edition (a full 1 and 1/4 mm by my count), now how can we stand by and let this transgression stain our good sport? the fact that any fool off the street can now pick up and play the sequences i have spent months mastering is a slur on the god name of guitar hero! should we allow fools and passers by now stroll up and rattle off the third solo from 'through the fire and flames' on expert mode?

Now I am not a Noobist (out of character, your teacher will love this line, the classic warped 'i am not a racist' line from angry mail is one that never fails to impress when subverting journalism) but if you are going to come int this genre i think they should be subject to the same learning trials that the veteran players endured! I hope that with enough attention we can have the manufactures of the game rectify this blasphemous transgression.
