Hey Escapist's, just wondering if you ever played a game/listened to an album/watched a tv show or movie which you didn't like at first but once you gave it a second chance you found out you liked it?

For me it was:
Awake by Dream Theater
In an Aeroplane over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel

Wrong forum?

I guess for me it was Diablo II. I thought it was a stupid hack and slash game. While my current opinion isn't far from that, I at least like it now. Very much, in fact. And metal in general. I didn't understand why people could stand to listen to noise. Now there's probably nothing that I like more. I also didn't like war films, Star Wars, Top Gear and salmon, the first time around. I do now.

The Offspring.

I dismissed them off the bat due to their style, much later down the track after listening a bit more to them, sometimes against my will, I am now of the opinion that despite being in a genre filled with mediocrity, they have a knack for writing good music. Their style still fills me with mistrust, but I can't help but feel they have some talent.

I actually played fear 2 soon after release.
The whole time I was thinking "fear 1 is so much better",
and I didn't enjoy the game at all.

Some time later I had been playing lots of Bad Company 2 online,
and I fancied some single-player fps.
A friend had been nagging me about how awesome fear 2 was.
I was sceptical but I thought I'd give it a blast.

I had loads of fun,
even completed it on hard on a second play-through too,
just cuz I wanted to play it again.

Alot of things are more fun if you get in the right mindset to play/listen/watch.
I played with my mind open, exploring the potential of the game
(Rather than comparing the game to some arbitrary expectations I already had).
