We all have regrets, but rarely a chance to change anything, but what if you could? If you were able to go back in time to tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?

No don't say "the lottery numbers", I mean advice on doing something differently than you did.

I'd go back and tell myself that rules are made to be broken. Then, when I reached my current age, I'd come into this thread and say 'I would tell my younger self some lottery numbers'.

Do your schoolwork first, make friends and be popular second. Your education lasts the friends do not.

Start working out. No girl wants to be more than just friends with the awkward fat kid.

If I could go back in time, I'd warn the me of a few months ago not to try the big ramp with my snowboard. It'll save me a broken leg.

when your friends ask if you want to hang out, do so.

homework is not as important as everyone makes it out to be.

You know, that's good advice, I think it's always...

...I feel so conflicted!

OT: I second the World of Warcraft comment. I'd tell myself "Just leave that free demo in Diablo 2 ALONE!"

Mine is exactly the same as this guy's. I screwed around in the beginning of high school and it's making my time applying for colleges a lot more difficult.

maybe I can illuminate your entanglement, but since I'm at the oppose end of the spectrum. there will be bias.

homework is very important. it helps you learn, and sooner or later you are going to need to know what you are doing. it also instills a good work ethic which is essential for life, I never said it was bad, only not as important.

socializing build social skills, you learn how to communicate, how to express your self, and most importantly how to make new friends.

you can study your life away, become really good at whatever it is that you studied, and then spend the rest of your life working on it. for a really good salary.

or you can study a bit, get a good enough understanding of it; but because you are the only one who can communicate well what you are doing as well as build up a good network to delegate certain tasks to which would lower costs and increase speed; you are placed in charege of the department and make double what everyone else dose. while most of the people who work under you would love you because you'd come across as understanding.

in today day and age it's not just what you know but who you know.

bonus points. you won't die alone.

Sorry, but getting on with work and grades is still more important, being popular and socialising still comes second even if it isn't non existent. In Highschool of all places it matters sweet FA. Maybe college or university but highschool? Pssh

Uh... I appreciate the well-thought out response, but I was really just making a joke about how two polar-opposite posts were posted so close to each other.

I'd probably warn myself to do a few things differently, it'd save me a hell of a lot of grief in the future...
