I would add a competent director and writer.

That's what was at the root of this abomnation; George Lucas.

But there's really nothing left to be said about the Star Wras prequels that has already been thoroughly discussed by RedLetterMedia.

I am a gigantic Star Wars fan and, yanno what, while i thought a lot of stuff was not that great, as a whole they are GOOD MOVIES (Crowd Gasp) not great, but very good movies. But in our minds we cannot leave well enough alone and its ideas like that that gives every asshole in Hollywood the idea that we can take something old and do it "better." Leave well enough alone, but if you must come up with these things, mark them as what they are. Fan fiction. Nothing to be ashamed of, but label it as it is.

Too soon for a remake...but I'd make sure George Lucas doesn't touch one single fucking page of the script.
They're already planing a spiderman reboot, and that's younger than the prequels!
Thats because Sam Raimi and Toby McGuire didn't want anything to do with a Spider-Man 4 and if they had waited a few more years Marvel Studios would have gotten the film rights back from (I think it was Sony, not entirely sure). Which is one of the worst reasons for a reboot.

I agree with most of your points but one major addition I would add would be to drastically change the battle droids. They are portrayed as buffoonish in ep. 3 as jar jar in ep. 1, with the best example being them talking to each other in the hanger at the beginning of the movie.

Regardless of what ever plan for a remake gets picked, I'd say wait 'til Lucas dies so he can't try an 'help'.

I've been thinking lately, there have been some reboots lately (namely the incredible hulk) and from what I've heard they're pretty good. So what I was thinking was, what if they made a Star Wars: prequels reboot? (from what I've heard) It worked for the incredible hulk, so why not star wars? Now I'm by no means a hardcore fan of the star wars franchise, but even I know that the prequels sucked. So my question to you is, if you were to remake the prequels, what would you have in it? What would it be about? Would you keep anything from the original prequels? What would you take out? The list goes on. So what are your ideas for if you were to make a reboot for the prequels?
Good idea, and it's not like Lucas could eff up the continuity any more then he already has, and there already redoing everything in 3D, so... ya know while their working, not like they couldn't take the hour to find someone better that Hayden Christensen

Nothing wrong with Hayden. No one would be able to work with those shitty lines, trust me. If you pay attention you'll see just how awful the writing and directing actually is
Never said It wasn't, but come on, the romance between Anakin and the Princess is slightly more romantic then a picture of a dead cat

That's the writing though, I mean, who could deliver that sand analogy and make it good?.. these movies make me a sad panda :/
Agreed, a sad Panda starved of Bamboo, and lord be why even follow it up with an animated movie? i don't know why Lucus wants to alienate his core audience...

I'm pretty sure I already said this in another thread, but I love you.

Seriously though, that would be an amazing replacement of the prequels. I would watch them in a heartbeat.
I would add in a lot more of the Clone Wars though, as in the real prequels it seemed like they started in full swing in Episode II, but ended quickly in Episode III. If Episode 2 replaced Episode 1, the new "II" could have a lot more of the great war in it, featuring some of the epic battles from the two cartoons and maybe movie.

Oh, and more Assaj Ventress. And General Greivous should do that epic intro fight he did, back in the 2D cartoon where he took on Ki-Adi-Mundi, Shaak Ti and about 4 other Jedi at once, and won.

I mean, as much as the story is important, the battles and set pieces of the prequels were incredible.

Jesus Christ...you Star Wars fan are extremely annoying. Stop acting like episode 1,2, and 3 are the absolute WORST films ever made. Just let it go already !
So what you're saying is that the films are the way the films are and we should all get over it? While I do respect your overall opinion of the star wars fans in general, there have been many films and shows that have gotten remakes and reboots. Fullmetal Alchemist with Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Hellsing with Hellsing: Ultimate Dragon Ball Z with Dragon Ball Z: Kai, The Incredible Hulk with... The Incredible Hulk, the list goes on. So why not the star wars prequels?
Yes, that is exactly what im saying ! If, you guys think that episodes 1,2 and 3 are mistakes well....so be it ! Mistakes are part of life. George Lucas should've done a better job and now, he has to live with it. Anyway, even if the prequels would've been incredible you guys would've searched for something to brag about anyway and what you're naming are Anime and im pretty sure anime are a different market than cinema. I won't go in details about the anime market because i don't know a lot about that category. Im prety sure Geroge Lucas doesn't really care about your opinions on his films anyway it's like if Christopher Nolan was writting the next Batman and then some fanboy would enter the room and tell him : "No, you shouldn't do it this way...do it that way !" Christopher would tell you to mind your own business. Your Star Wars prequel scenarios are pretty cool but let's be realistic i don't think it will ever see the light of day. I don't think movie studios would be THAT suicidal and touch a series like Star Wars.
Who said we were going to get them made? Although I bet some people would get their own made, most of us wouldn't. I even said when I posted the forum that I wanted ideas, not actual movies. Granted it would be cool if they did make a reboot of the prequels, a man can dream can't he? And like I said before, the incredible hulk got a reboot after Ang Lee made the first movie, and from what I've heard it's significantly better. So once again I pose the question, why not the prequels?
