I've noticed this on the South Park website, and an acquaintance ran across it whilst watching House on some TV streaming page or other, namely:
When you pause playback, the whole video seems to go haywire; it blanks out, has an audio/video lag, the frame freezes while the audio continues etc.

What's the cause of this, and is there any way of stopping it?Something to do with buffering?
My knowledge of these things is extremely limited.

I dont really know much about streaming, I only do it for good anime and bbc iplayer but I do sometimes get that audio going frame freezing and when you pause it the whole thing goes bust
But I just try again the next day and it works perfectly =S

That was a..unique..first post. Well done, grand entrance made and all that.

OT: I've never had that problem, but BBC iPlayer can be a real ***** when it wants to. Quite often it tells me I don't have the bandwidth to play it and then suddenly stops, resets and works like a charm. I wish it could make up its mind rather than flicking schizophrenically between whimpering in the corner muttering about bandwidth and being a useful online player.
