... namely, that it's full of whiny little screaming teenage tw*ts.

I dunno about you guys, but I love it.
Seriously, if there's one thing more hilarious than blowing someone away online, it's knowing that they're on the other end of a controller screaming in indignation after telling you how much better than you they were.

When you're in the mood, whiny teens are just what you need online. Surely I'm not alone folks?

Just so's ya know.
You can swear and say rude things here, you don't have to censor out twat and ass (People do! I know! Crazy.)

Anyway, it's MORE populated with whiny little screaming teenage fucktards than any other community from what I've seen, so it's ranked at the top of the whiny little screaming teenage fucktard-ammount chart.

Anyway, back on topic: Sometimes I enjoy it, when I'm in a good mood. If I'm in a bad mood it depresses me even more.

Yes, the best part of which is that the "whiney tweens" in question rarely posses any "skill."

They tend to irritate me but not as much as those who complain about them.

Party Chat people even if you're the only one. Mutes everyone in the lobbies and games.

Well sometimes it's funny to kill them and then they get all super angry. But then they will eventually kill you and you will never hear the end of it.

And that is the only thing that straight up pisses me off.

When people brag (online with a mic or in the same room on the same console) after every kill ("WHOA DID YOU SEE THAT?", "DUDE I PWND YOU", etc) I rage. And almost nothing else makes me rage that hard. Granted, it does make killing them all the sweeter, but I have to stop a real murderous fury to play long enough to do it.

So I'd prefer it if everyone actually respected each other online. That's probably not going to happen though because you are just text on a screen or another bunch of pixels on the magic box of colors to them. How sad...

Pretty much this. The majority of the time, however, it's annoying.
Although sometimes, after a bad day, I enjoy nothing more than sitting down and ruining some child's day. :)

they're detrimental to xbox live. it alienates new players and ultimately gives the media ammunition to use against video games when they can say things like "look at what its done to this little angel!"

i say get rid of them, i mute them all the time.

I hate knowing that these people exist, because it makes my generation look bad. They're nearly always British, which saddens me more, for I am British. It really annoys me that you get profanities screamed at you just for being better than someone at a game at that particular moment in time.

The internet truly is a monkeyhouse...

Indeed. It's especially silly when they just censor out one letter. Might as well have not bothered, everybody already knows what you wanted to say and taking out one letter doesn't mean you didn't swear. You still did, so either use the whole word or just don't swear at all if you don't want to.

Agreed. The worst is when they finally do kill you, and despite the fact that you've killed them 10 times before they finally got you with a lucky headshot or whatever and that you'll kill them another 10 times after, they act like they are the best player in the universe from the time they get that kill until the game ends. So annoying.

I hate it when people bring this up to bash xbox live.

I mean, sure, there ARE more whiny assholes who play xbox live than pc, or ps3. But really, the only difference is that while the xbox has a billion of these idiots, ps3 and pc only have a million of them. In the end there's not much of a difference.

I just always mute them, anyway.

Me and my friend like to act extremely homosexual over xbox live. Not actually gay, but just form their voice you can feel them fidget in their seat over something so inane. Hilarity insured when you say over the mic "Hey man can you stop rubbing your nipples at me for a second I'm trying to play here."

I do not play many mupltiplayer games, but when I have I have had no problem. I suspect that this idea exists because of the really massive online games. With that sheer number there will always be an annoying contingent that sticks out in people's minds. Because, really, a percentage of all people are annoying twits and the more people you get together in one place, the more likely it will be to run into one of them.

Any game with online play and the ability to use a microphone will attract annoying little fuckers. Can't speak for Xbox Live myself as I don't own an Xbox, but as far as I can see, online play and complete scrotes go hand in hand. But I can also relate to it perhaps making it all the more satisfying to kick their asses :)

I realise that a magical asterisk is a stupid thing to include, but when I saw people being put on probation for telling jokes in a thread about jokes, I figured playing it safe.

Like has been said, even in the best of online gaming communities (thinking back to my CS 1.6 days) there are gonna be idiots. Muting is quick and easy for whenever you don't feel like it. I occasionally see how long of a flame diatribe you can generate from one plain statement. You'd be amazed how much ire can be directed at you if you just switch on chat and announce "I'm French."

For the most part, I just mute everyone with a microphone. It's sad, but it's an unfortunate part of xbox live. The community badly needs to be cleaned up.

I think it's actually an even exchange.

Xbox 360 gets the whiny idiots, while PS3 gets the piece of crap that is the PS Home.

It's been out for two years, and it's still a crappy beta.

OT: Just mute the bastards.

More like all the annoying 6-8 year olds playing games they REALLY shouldn't be (ie Aliens vs Predator... you know it almost got an Ao rating from violence alone)
