Hi everyone, It's been awhile since i actually posted. But i'm going to make this one meaningful.

I'm having trouble trying to run tf2 on steam, it says 'Download starting' and it has not changed for quite a few days now. I have no idea what's going on. I cannot run the game since it says it is unavalible.

Here and there the 'download starting' words will change to 'updating: 48%' then go back to download starting, which i think shouldn't happen. So basically i cannot play the game because it is updating but the updating is taking a long time (over 4 days) which isn't normal, my internet connection is fine, so it's not that that's causing the problem.

If anyone could assist me in this matter i would be most greatful and If anyone else is having this problem be sure to post.

Thank you very much for reading.
Look forwards to seeing you all in the field.
-Seventh.

If you haven't already, make a post on the Steam forums about it. Have you tried restarting steam, disconnecting and reconnecting the router, etc?

actually what you need to do is go on steam, go on your game tab and just right click on tf2 and choose resume updating. That should work...

I've done that, it just says 'download starting' and that's all.

Steam can be great, but can also be a ball-ache. I suggest pressing everything that can be pressed (Stop updating, double clicking it and seeing if it starts again, etc), but the last time one of my games stopped updating, I waited a few hours and it worked again.

Considering you've been waiting days, I suggest deleting it and re-downloading. It should download it all at once, but I guess it depends on your bandwidth. I did that with UT3 and it worked.

Don't know what else to suggest. Good luck, though.

Thank you for your ideas, though i did need validation if it's actually worth deleting and redownloading. So i guess if it worked with Killing Floor, then it'll work here.

Thanks again mate, hope it works.

If that doesent work and reinstalling steam usually works.
Well, i hope i don't have to go that far. But i'm reinstalling now, so i'm hoping for the best
