This is my idea for a game, well mostly just the ending, but you could just have the main character die, no matter how hard you try in the game and how good you get, you just die at the end. There could also be an ending cinematic that shows how you failing screwed up everyone else?s life. It just seems that in games lack a true tragedy, you can chose a bad ending in some games but you have chosen to do that. Of course the game would be amazing up to that point, and it would just be a let down at the end. As a marketing ploy, you could have a sequel right away, where you could play as someone from the first one whose life is worse now, and they realize that maybe they shouldn?t have left it all up to the late main character. What do you think?

I think he's referring to Fallout 3...?

EDIT : Didn't read the ending bit; personally I think its a ridiculous idea... (unless your insulting a game, in which case, what game are you insulting?)

Saints Row. The Darkness.

Tragic endings are good for games, they spice things up rather than the usual "Hero wins and everybody's ok" happy endings. I like them. I think there was another game with a sad ending but I forget what it was...

In Pariah, for the original Xbox, you fight thru army after army to rescue someone and after you get there and get surrounded, you shoot yourself in the head because of the futility of the situation. If you do have the player lose at the end, make sure it's believable, and not just because you can have them lose.
