This does raise an interesting question, however. Who is the greater Crab Norris... Paksigue, or... Ghostcrawler?!
Hogger > All. He single-handedly killed an entire raid consisting of Ensidia (if I remember correctly) members (Note: Ensidia is one of the best PvE's guilds in WoW).
Ghostcrawler defeated every Paladin in the game at once, instantly. Several times. To the ground.

I was almost intrigued and tempted to try the game out by this article. Then I read the comments and remembered it was a MMORPG.
Doesn't mean it's not a good game! I've heard many, many good things about it. Personally, I went for Champions Online because I prefer the faster combat, but I haven't heard a bad review of Aion yet.

I do think that more games (MMORPGs specifically, but every game is good for it) need big bads that can't be taken down by a cocky hero who's just started out. Aion has Paksigue, Warcraft had the Fel Reaver and Champions has Grond, and they're all great fun. I still think Grond is the best, mainly because he doesn't just kill the players, but all the enemy NPCs he encounters too - nothing says "memorable" like finally finding the supervillain you're trying to kill, only for him to be squashed by a forty foot tall bright green mutant.

As a Horde player, the equivalent enemy I thought of was the Son of Arugal. He's elite, he's higher level than you (at the time), and he just kind of meanders around large areas of Silverpine. Also, being a unexceptional enemy from an instance in that zone, he doesn't drop anything to warrant challenging him.

He's just there to be the Big Bad Wolf to your Little Red Riding Hood.

Danger in an MMOG is a good thing ? as long as it?s avoidable.

This has to be the least epic elite boss in a MMO...

You know what? I completely forgot about him. I'm not sure if he's still Elite, though, since Blizzard robbed most wandering Elites of their status.

I remenber the fabled Son of Arugal from WoW in Silverpine Forest. That elite monster camped people for funsies!

Actually...most monsters in WoW like to sneak on you! The invisible T-Rexes(really...Dinos can use stealth but Taurens can't!) and the damn Fel Reavers, to name a couple.

Who wants to feel like an invincible god all the time?
I take it you don't read forums or pay much attention to chat when you're playing, because you're in a sadly tiny minority.

This is funny cause there is an Elite Mob like that in Runes of Magic that does the exact same thing. He of course is affectionately nicknamed the "Ninja Bear" Borrofar. He be the Scourge of Aslan Valley ^_^

And your absolutely right, when they are vanquished you do feel good. (mostly cause you finally exacted revenge XD)

Don't know if Crab Norris roam around high traffic areas but the Ninja Bear in RoM does and since he looks like every other bear around there but slightly bigger, hence ninja, its so ez to get smited by him. Not to mention all the quests that have u killing bears lol.

And, yeah, those Devilsaurs too. They thump and make the ground shake when they walk... so why do they keep catching us by surprise?!
I literally have no idea how they manage it. Not only that, but they are probably the largest hostile non-instance creatures pre-BC. Incredible size doesn't really hint at sneaking skills, and yet I've been jumped from behind by them countless times.

Damn Blizzard, damn them to hell.

Its not him, there's more than one, and they still haunt my dream's.

Just wandering around randomly exploring and leveling up my mining then, suddenly, out of nowhere, a level 21-22 elite randomly runs out the bushes, rapes you to death, then saunters away, leaving you to wonder exactly what happened. He was far more terrifying than the Fel Reavers or the Devilsaurs, those you could hear coming, this was a beast of stealth, trickery and deception.

Satan, thy name is Son of Arugal.

All you WoW-playing, Horde-loving folks who've traipsed through Ashenvale Forest can remember this feeling with just one word:

Sharptalon.
"Shivers"......Him (or her?). I hated that bird. I was hunting allys and they always ran near that bird. That or he just jumped on me...Randomly....when I was at my weakest. I came back when I was level 70 (during Burning Crusade) for vengeance.
