A website almost as bad as 4Chan

Well, let's be clear, this website isn't bad in the same way as 4Chan, though it is bad due to user-related issues.

I'll be honest, this is probably my second time visiting The Student Room, both times looking for past papers for upcoming exams (Physics unit 1 resit in 5 hours), and God, my first impression of the users is that they are some of the most idiotic yet pretentious twats on the internet.

I didn't find any physics material because, to be honest, I wasn't bothered for it. Looking at the thread list on the right, I noticed it displays, at any given time, at least 2 sex advice threads, a few depression related threads (one actually called "Is depression worse than cancer?", a mass of threads where people have a go at fat/stupid people and, get this, a thread exclusively for users holding offers from Cambridge.

I think it's safe to say that I will not be visiting this website again in the foreseeable future.

I just looked at the website and it didn't seem that bad to me. I hope you know there is a subdirectory that links you to the rest of their forums [http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/forums], and it's not just the posts you see on the first page. It seems as if the general discussion forums are the most popular, which is no surprise. It's the same way here.

I don't think there is anything worse than 4chan. Like cockroaches after the nuclear apocolypse, when the internet dies, somehow, someway, 4chan will remain. Mutinated and cancerous from all the radiation coming off those monitors and super-egos (Yes, ego is radioactive. No, not the toaster kind.), but alive nonetheless.
