I'm really hoping the mixes are good because I dislike a lot of these artists. I'm glad to see some new artists on there though. Mainly Deadmau5, Kaskade, Chris Willis, and The Prodigy.
Come on, how could you hate this?qazmatoz said:I always liked the punk aspects of the band a lot more, especially in Heads Up, so in my mind it's still on JFK. I never actually looked up what Grainger got up to after they split.Raziel_Likes_Souls said:Holy crap, I thought I was the only one who remembered those guys. But if it makes it up, they might put the MSTRKRFT remix of Sexy Results. Also, they both kinda killed the band, they got pissed off with each other, and JFK want to go more dance, and Sebastien wanted to go more punk. So it wasn't only JFK's fault.qazmatoz said:I will never forgive JFK for killing DFA 1979 to do MSTRKRFT.
I applaud them for trying something new... Sort of. Quietly. I haven't played it admittedly, but I don't know how many people dream of being a DJ hero. But the appeal to me of Guitar Hero is that I get to play songs I love... On a plastic guitar. Pretending I'm epic. And the only band on that list I care about is Metallica. And I'm not sure how you play a Metallica song with a turntable thing.John Funk said:If you don't like the music, fine, but DJ Hero was actually a really, really good game and very unlike the current music games on the market. It's disheartening to hear people blasting people for not being innovative and then not supporting an effort to try something new.
Now now, never said I didn't like the LP, it's just that Heads Up was so much more raw and intense, as short as it was.Raziel_Likes_Souls said:Come on, how could you hate this?qazmatoz said:I always liked the punk aspects of the band a lot more, especially in Heads Up, so in my mind it's still on JFK. Aye, same here, DJing just doesn't seem like it'd be the same as Guitar I'm sure the mechanics are good, but it's a music game, and if I personally don't like the music, I'm not going to bother trying it, because I know the music will make my head explode, sure if you like rap and that stuff then good for you, because there's now a game for you to play, and enjoy, im not blasting the game, I imagine the GAME part works very well, I just can't stand that style of music. Also, I am NOT looking forward to whatever they do to whatever metallica song is on there.brunothepig said:I applaud them for trying something new... Sort of. Quietly. You know, you can always just buy the game and turntable secondhand, save some money and not give Kotick anything. Everyone wins!Jumplion said:And that's fine by me. I respect your acceptance to buy the game from Activision, that's your right as a gamer as well. Just know where your money goes to.UnkeptBiscuit said:That's fine by me. I respect your refusal to buy the game, but expect to find me playing it just after it comes out.Jumplion said:Well I don't think it is. I don't want to support Kotick or his policies on his company, regardless of what grand experience I'll miss, and if some developers "suffer" because of it then so be it. People always say that the consumer has to respond with their wallet, so I'm just doing that. That's why I refused to buy MW2 (and glad I didn't), Infinity Ward themselves may be good people, but Activision is not (specifically, of course, Kotick) If Activision wants me to buy DJ Hero 2, they better clean up their act (by first firing Kotick if that is possible at all, with him being their CEO and whatnot).
Just to note, I'm not saying that DJ Hero is a bad game, I've never played it (maybe someday though) so I can't judge. And while I understand what you're saying with "Just because you don't like the music doesn't mean you won't like the game." doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of a music game? To more or less quote Yahtzee here "It came to a point where I realized that I wasn't even listening to the music anymore, just tapping the colors to jog the little part of my brain for joy." Review [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/941-Beatles-Rock-Band-and-Guitar-Hero-5].
Eh, but again, I don't really think it's my kind of game. DJ Hero may be a fun game n' all, but if I'm not interested in the music in a music game what's the point? I'd kind of be like playing an RPG when I don't like RPGs, or playing a sports game when I don't like sports games. It just doesn't mesh, you know?UnkeptBiscuit said:You know, you can always just buy the game and turntable secondhand, save some money and not give Kotick anything. Everyone wins!
And now our discussion's going in circles. We were just here, and I said that I'm not a fan of the music myself yet still enjoyed the game. To quote Risky Business, sometimes you've just got to say, "What the fuck," and jump headfirst into something. You may just come out the other end with gold in your pockets.Jumplion said:snip
