Okay, yes, it's a game recommendation thread again but don't go away yet!
There is a key point.
Still there?
Yay.
Right, I have an xbox 360 with two controllers. I also have a girlfriend who I have converted to the ways of gaming. We both enjoy Co-op campaigns. (I like versus and multiplayer too but she prefers working together) And we both went through Borderlands together splitscreen. Lotsa fun. Shiny weapons, leveling up and customising what we like, and working together shooting crap.
We finished that, then did Gears of War 2. Lots of fun together!
Next is Gears of War 1, which we have yet to start.
We also regularly play Left 4 Dead, but that's a bit short.

So, the question is, what 360 games are there that have good campaigns for working together? It doesn't have to be a shooter mind you. But being able to level up and spend skill points is always good cause it means we can specialise. But, yeah, any decent co-op game.

PS: We already tried Halo. She's rubbish at it for some reason.

Thanks in advance!

Castle crashers is great fun and unless your doing the insane mode, doesn't require a full party. Left 4 dead 2 in my opinion is much better and has a bit more life to it, again personal opinion. Borderlands is also fun, but short. Only other game off the top of my head is the most recent splinter cell, which I liked but I didn't have a chance to play with a friend properly. Aside from that, I can't think off anymore.

Wait for Portal 2. I really can't think of many same screen co-op xbox games. Maybe sports and racing games?

Soul Cailibur is great happy smashy fun, although it has to just about the dumbest game around, guitar hero obviously if your into that sort of thing. Oh I forgot Unreal Tournament 3 its got incredibly multiplayer where you have to cooperate to win and some of the best bots on any game ever, I still have an awesome time on that game even when im playing by myself.

If you can get into Dynasty Warriors, they're pretty good about including splitscreen co-op. Marvel Ultimate Alliance is good. YMMV, as with everything.

MW2's got the Spec Ops which is always great fun and they may be more of kids games but anything in the lego series has 2 player co-op I believe.

Castle Crashers is definitely a good option.

Splinter Cell: Conviction's co-op split-screen is pretty fun, but a bit hard.

Definitely get Portal 2 when that comes out.

Rock Band if you both like rhythm games.

A Wild Thread Appears!

Mods used Banhammer!

Its Super Effective!
OT: Most fighting games are great fun to beat the living hell outta each other
Maybe some racing games depending on how you both enjoy and the aforementioned Rock Band

Squirtle I choose you!...wait..

I reccomend:
Perfect Dark (old nintendo 64 game ported to XBLA) has both co-operative and counter-operative, challenges that can be done multiplayer and a standard choose arena, choose, sims, choose weapons multiplayer mode. Think Goldeneye only better in every way and not James Bond.
Left4dead 2 if you like the first one.
Rainbow Six Las Vegas/Las Vegas 2: Both excellent games with you playing a pseudo swat member. Has a realism mode as well that punishes you for not playing like an actual swat member (e.g cover, sweep and clear, use your buddies for teamwork)

Other than than that local co-op titles are a bit thin on the ground.

Games I played with my girlfriend, other than the ones you already said, and that she loved (she hated fifa 2010 for example):
- Army of two 40th day
- Resident evil 5
- Left 4 dead 2
