Death is not the end of you.
Death is not the end for you
Death is a beginning.
The Beginning is your chance for a new Life.

I am truly sorry to have to visit you. I didn't think it would be our time to meet for a long while. Ah but where are my manners, here I am talking and you don't even know who I am. It is quite simple; I am Death, your Death in fact, comes too soon to collect your soul. Damned shame isn't it; I know that you had plenty of plans left to fulfill. It's too bad that they will never be realized. It is too bad that you couldn't have a second shot at it.

Or could you? That is why you are here, on my train rather in Purgatory being rushed to obtain salvation even after Death. Sounds boring doesn't it? I'm giving you another option instead. Play my game I have planned and one of your little group here might actually make it to the end and be reborn, an old soul in a new body. Tempting isn't it? The other nice thing about it is that if you do lose; it doesn't matter; you're already dead, you'll just be sent to the plane of the afterlife that best suited your life.

The rules are quite simple, we're going on a trip through the afterlife, collecting various little trinkets to I have a use for. You collect the trinkets and you keep playing the game; if you slip up a little, you might be eliminated from the game. Last man standing wins the chance at rebirth. Now, who's up for some cold drinks? They're on my tab?

Welcome to A Wish Upon My Deathbed I am your host, Death and we are taking a little journey. Your characters have no fear of Death in this RP; after all they've already died by the time it begins. Whether this is by suicide, murder, old age, it doesn't matter; all that matters is that you weren't ready to go yet, that?s how I knew you'd be willing to play a little game.

This is the interest page where sheets and questions about the RP will be asked. I can also be PM'd or reached on Twitter with @Lost_inthe_Void. So let's get cracking; who's ready to die?

Name: James 'Jim' Wildson

Age: 22

Sex: Male

Appearance: Doesn't really look Human. Looks more like a pile of burned flesh inside a World War II-era G.I.'s uniform, his face charred red and black, his lips burned away to show his teeth. His ears, little fingers, eyelids, and eyes have also been burned out, although he somehow sees anyway.

Personality: Deeply bitter and angry, filled with impotent rage. He yearns to lash out at anyone, anything. What he's like when he isn't angry is anyone's guess, because he rarely ever seems not to be, the only question is whether he's wailing right now or just grinding his teeth, plotting an impotent vengeance.

Bio: Born January 25th, 1923 to a middle-class Bostonian family, Jim lived a fairly unpleasant life - when he was eight, the family went from reasonably well off to nearly broke in the blink of an eye as the stock market crashed. His father lost his job and they were forced onto the streets and by the age of ten he was working with his father as a migrant worker. In 1939, things seemed to be turning up for the family, though. His father got a good paying job in a factory.

Soon after, World War II broke out. It was still no concern to them and for the next two years the family lived in relative peace and prosperity. Jim met a girl, began making plans for the future. Then things turned upside down for the family again as the United States entered World War II, and seemingly immediately Jim was called up to fight, at first in the African Theater, then in 1944, his unit was sent to Normandy. Only a few months later, Jim and his squad were captured and taken to Dresden to be sent further on to a POW camp.

Before that could happen, the city was burned to ashes. Jim survived the first and second day of the bombing, then on the third day a bomb set the building they were held in on fire. Jim had enough time to watch the fire spread and surround them, hammering on the bars of the cell before it finally crept in and consumed him. His efforts to stay below the smoke only spared him for the fire.

And then he was dead. And now he's here, denied his chance to live by his own countrymen. He'll do anything to get a second life. Whatever it takes.

Reason for Demise: Was a prisoner of war at Dresden when it was firebombed.

Religion: Misotheist (He believes in a God, but hates him.)

Name: Shirin Mahdavikia

Age: 24

Sex: Female

Appearance: Shirin is 5'4 with tan colored skin, a proud bearing of her Arab heritage. She has long straight black hair, but it is covered up by a blood red hijab that surrounds her face and neck. Other than that, her dress is relatively modern. She wears a black leather jacket buttoned up with a beige blouse on underneath. In defiance of her culture, she wears a pair of blue jeans with a pair of shin high black boots. The outfit looks out of place with the hijab, but it covers up the mess her neck became when she was killed, and the jacket and jeans hide the permanent lacerations and scars from her year in prison.

Personality: For most of her life Shirin was submissive, always putting other peoples needs above her own. She was kind and generous, and well liked by her peers. During the last year of her life, that kind woman was beaten and tortured, forced to watch horrible atrocities committed on her fellow citizens, and by the time she was executed, she was a cold bitter shell of her former self. Now she wants to get revenge on those responsible for her death.

Bio: Shirin was born in a suburb of Tehran on October 2nd, 1979, just as the Iranian Revolution was kicking into full gear. Her parents were young, involved in the uprising and they raised her in full belief of the theocratic state they lived in. Everything went along as normal until it came time to choose a college. Being an exceptional student, Shirin got offers from the most highly-regarded universities in Iran...as well as a full ride from Arizona State University in Tempe. Her parents were against going abroad, especially to the hated enemies of the glorious Eastern regime, but Shirin was certain she would do well there, even learn some of the infidel's tricks and be able to assist the Ayatollah in hitting the Americans' weak points. With this reasoning, she was allowed to come stateside.

Shirin was all set to report on the decadent ways of the United States youth as she settled into her first year in Hayden Hall. Then frosh week initiations took place and Shirin did her first beer bong. She struggled at first but as the Miller Lite hit her lips, she became less opposed to this whole American way of life. After all, it couldn't be all bad if these people so willingly participated. During her first year, she slowly made friends and got more acquainted with the alcohol. During one winter night she finally felt comfortable enough with her friends and their ideas on the world that she appeared in public without the hijab she had worn for her entire life. By the end of the year, she had shed her conservative Muslim ways and embraced the lifestyle of the college student, moving into an off dorm residence with a couple of the friends she made in Hayden Hall. Over the next three years she would check back with her parents, sending them emails and doing enough studying to keep her scholarship money coming, but they knew nothing off her social life there. Finally she graduated with her degree in physics and came back to Iran.

Her parents could sense there was something different about their daughter, the headwrap wasn't sitting right and at the worst possible time. The 9/11 attacks had fanned the old flames even brighter as America invaded Afghanistan and Iraq by the time she got home, and Shirin carried the stink of the infidels all over her. Her parents distanced themselves as Shirin integrated back into her homeland, applying for a job at the Natanz Nuclear Facility. Things got derailed however during a protest at 7 Tir Square in regards to the treatment of students. Shirin happened to be passing by on her way to visit a family friend when the Basij descended on the square. Shirin was one of the people rounded up and taken to the Evin prisoner detainment facility.

They went over her background and discovered the years spent abroad and the recent applications for the nuclear job. They immediately labelled her a spy corrupted by the regime of the West and tortured her to get an espionage confession. She refused to give in as they beat her over the months before finally sentencing her to death without a confession. She reached out to her family but they believed the IRG's report and hung her out to dry. Then she was literally hung out. On March 22nd, 2004, Shirin Mahdavikia was executed at the Evin facility, and her body tossed in a mass grave with other executed captives.

After a while spent in purgatory she finds herself on this train to nowhere, not knowing what is in store, but if it will allow her to right the wrongs she felt she suffered in her prior life, she's willing to do what it takes.

Reason for Demise: Hanged for espionage by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard

Religion: Islam, but with feminist backing

<spoiler=Carolyn>
Name: Carolyn McKenzie

Age: 27

Sex: Female

Appearance: She's got long blonde hair and wears a blue flower in her hair, next to her right ear. She has round sunglasses, tinted red. Her eyes are blue. She's above average length. She wears a wide baggy shirt and a short skirt. Her clothes goes in a psychedelic pattern with very bright colors like yellow, red, orange, pink and green. She also has yellow boots.

Personality: She's a freespirited individual, with a strong belief in peace and pacifism. She hates people who lies, which she feels all politicians do and she is therefore a very honest person. She doesn't like how the world is, with people being killed in wars or starving to death. She never knew her father, but hearing her mother talk about him he always seemed like a good man. She lost her father to a war and the vietnam war is something she disapproves of strongly, since more people dies on both sides. She tries to act altruistic most of the time, because she believes that you have to be the change you want to see in the world.

She died during the best years of her life, the 1960's. She doesn't want to be dead. Carolyn wants to be alive with her friends, to enjoy more great music and casual sex.

Bio: Carolyn was born on the 23rd of July, 1943. Her father was killed in the second world war and she never actually met him. She was raised by her mother and her side of the family. They lived in Los Angeles during most of her childhood. Her mother worked as a librarian and did her best to support them, but it wasn't always easy.

They moved to San Fransisco, after her mother fell in love with a man who lived there. Carolyn started school there. She got friends and a new life. She didn't remember much from her life in Los Angeles. Her mother got married to her new love Richard after a few years. Carolyn and her mother's new husband, didn't get along very well.

He tried being a father for her, but he was a strict patriotic american with a christian faith. Carolyn didn't enjoy being told what to do or how to behave, by someone who wasn't even part of her family. She started misbehaving, just to spite him. She fell in with what some would call a bad crowd. She did cannabis for the first time and showed up at home high. Richard threathened to throw her out of the house. She was a disgrace to him and her mother, fortunately her mother stood up for her that time.

Carolyn was sixteen when that happened. She could barely stand living with them anymore anyway. She thought about running away from home, but she didn't want to hurt her mother's feelings so she stayed.

Carolyn and Richard somehow got in a discussion about the vietnam war one day. He thought that it was a good thing and that those who died in it, died for their country. She had lost her father in a war and his opinion made her hate him even more. The discussion ended with her shouting at him and then running out of the house.

She stayed at her older friend Sandy's apartment, for some days. She moved back home eventually, even if that only lasted for another year before she moved out for good. Carolyn and Sandy got their own apartment.

Sandy was a big influence on Carolyn. She was the one who put most of the ideas about what the world should be like, casual sex, relationships and was also the only one who actually listened to her. Her mother tried to get Carolyn to change her ways, but it wasn't that easy, not when she had gotten married to such an awful person.

Carolyn fell in love with Sandy. It was one of the few things she wasn't sure what do about. They were both women after all. It kind of solved itself, after Sandy seduced her. She told her how she felt the day after. Sandy made it clear how she didn't believe in monogamous relationships, but that she still loved her.

The years went by and they continued living together.

At the age of 22 she was working at a cafe and still living in San Fransisco. Sandy, got them both tickets for the Family Dog hosted "A Tribute to Dr. Strange" at Longshoreman's Hall. It was San Fransisco's first psychedelic rock concert.

It was also the start of a more interesting part of her life, than working at a cafe. She started wearing colorful clothing, doing LSD, hitchhiking across the country, sleeping with random strangers and going to concerts with other hippies.

She moved into an apartment in the Haight-Ashbury, with some other friends. She loved life at this point, since she got to spend it with likeminded individuals doing fun things without any real worries. Unfortunately, it wasn't long after, that she jumped off a building while tripping on LSD and died, because she believed she could fly.

Reason for Demise: Suicide under the influence of LSD.

Religion: She was looking for a more personal spiritual experience and didn't believe in any particular religion.

Here is my contribution.
Name: Abraham "Honest Abe" Solomon

Age: 25

Sex: Male

Appearance: Abe is 5'3, small and light, skinny and pale. He's bald with no other facial hair. He wears a fedora hat, a tailored suit and a tie along with custom made trousers. His leather shoes stand out in his overall appearance, but they make up for being useful when he needs to deal with rude gentlemen while wearing his boxers.

Personality: Abraham learned that blood and sweat bind families and men together. He cherishes his bonds with his family and the local community, and his bonds he developed with his friends fighting together side by side. He is clever and knows the true value of the commodity that is the truth and will not hesitate to stand up for what he believes. He is very stubborn and has a high endurance and an extraordinary ability to survive heavy punishment which only enhances his determination to succeed.

Bio: Abraham was born to a religious family in Brooklyn, New York. His parents emigrated from Germany and thought they could lead their lives in America without fearing persecution.

When he was seven he went to a religious school where he would be taught about Judaism. When he grew older, around the age of ten, the local children began to harass him for walking in strange clothes. It lasted for the next seven months and ended in a climax, where he was stripped of his clothes, beaten and left outside tied to a pole in the winter.

When he was no longer ill his parents enlisted him in a secular school where the same children that beat him studied. He went on and trained in boxing to defend himself and when he was fourteen he managed to fend off any that wanted to fight him. He would help his father in his shop and train in the local boxing club till it happened.

Local thugs came to collect the debt his father didn't owe them. He fought back. Needless to say, he suffered for it. When he was in the hospital, Abe tended the shop. The next time the thugs came into the shop and asked for a debt he didn't owe them, they were the ones that suffered. He, alongside other Jewish shop owners started their own coalition to protect their property from thugs and gangsters.

When Abe grew older, he wanted to study in the university and become a lawyer. He would protect people like he did in his neighborhood. He was refused. Since he was the head of the Jewish coalition he did not manage to complete his studies in his school. Pursuing what he thought was denied from him, he joined a Jewish gang that controlled most of Brooklyn and the lower east side.

He became a high ranking soldier, looking out for a crew of six of his friends and going on missions to protect the business of his new Congregation. In the early thirties, when a wave of antiemetic protests and riots spread all across the mid-west and began to appear in New York featuring a group of American Nazi supporters, he was sent in by his boss alongside his crew to suppress the protesters.

The first few protests were a success. He would break the bones and crush the skulls of the men that hated him. A deal between his boss and the mayor of NYC was struck, allowing the boss to stop the protests as long as nobody was killed. It was fun while it lasted. One of his friends killed a young man in a fit of rage. The next protest wasn't very peaceful. They didn't turn away and left when Abe and the rest of the thugs came in.

They fought back. A circle around Abe was formed. For every face he saw, he would remember the face of the children that beat him up in that winter day. He was protecting his brothers, his kin abroad and throughout the USA. He was a patriot.

It took them forty minutes to completely break him. They had clubs and pipes. He fought back ferociously against his attackers, and even while his friends lay on the floor bleeding, he stood on his feet. Then he felt a shape pain go through his stomach. A knife, perhaps.
He died in 1935, 18th of March.

Reason for Demise: He was lynched by a mob of American Nazi supporters.

Religion: Judaism, though he's mostly a secular Jew.

Name: Tom Freeman

Age: 17

Sex: Male

Appearance: Tom has messy brown hair, green eyes and a nice smile. He is of average height, and is quite physically fit, and is also intelligent to boot.

Personality: He has strong determination, he is considerate, brave, and unafraid to try new things. However, when his sister is mentioned, he goes mad.

Bio: Tom was raised in a good family with both parents present and a younger sister. However, both parents mysteriously dissappeared, leaving the responsibilty to look after the physically weak Loanna to Tom. Loanna had a rare heart condition that required an organ transplant and because of a lack of parents, Tom could not find the huge sum of money to pay for it. However, a kind lady and her organisation offered to help Tom pay for Loanna's transplant by raising the $1,500,000 needed via a charity they set up. However, after the operation had been finished and his sister saved, all the money from the charity which he had needed to pay for the transplant vanished. He tried to appeal for more help, however, noone would give him any money as they thought it was all a con and was just a way for him to make money without earning anything. He had to go to gangs and loansharks for money, and when he couldn't pay them back nor even their extortionate interest rates on top of this, they decided to sell him on the black market. He was "bought" and had most of his organs removed and sold. Because of a lack of necessary support systems to keep him alive, he died.

Reason for Demise: Organ removal.

I have been at least somewhat interested for some time now, though I stalled a bit when it came to writing a sheet. I focused a little too much on writing the character's death, and now it just feels weird to continue writing.

Name: Christopher Metas

Age: 35

Sex: Male

Appearance: Lean in stature with matching height, Christopher has a sort of unkempt look to him in that his hair (facial &c.) is hardly groomed at all. Roughly spun brown clothes give him much the appearance of either a disgruntled monk or a beggar of the streets. Notable is his complete lack of eyes.

Personality: He is a good deal serious concerning quite nearly anything and because of his striking blindness, he much dislikes foolery in fear of being taken advantage of. Just so, he only trusts those close to him (by his own standards) of which there are few, though he himself is reliable to a great extent.

Bio: Christopher was born into one of the first colonial families in New England and grew up as well as any other: he worked about the house, mostly, with his own mother, while his father, a fur trader, spent a good deal of time away in the wilderness. He developed, at an early, a liking of stories about men who called themselves wizards in books, though knew all as well it was fiction.
However, he one day did stumble upon a sort of book that concerned itself with a mysterious science called 'Alchemy.' The idea of transmuting things into valuable metal met strong appeal in the mind of a young Christopher who had always aspired to be as one with the magicians in his stories!
He spent years working odd jobs about the growing colony, all the while studying that one compendium he had found years before. Finally, with enough money, he started to amass a sort of kit of the tools an alchemist would use and began experimenting in his own time. Of course no kind of chemistry is entirely safe...

Reason for Demise: An unfortunate mixing of chemicals ended up dissolving most of Christopher's organs (his eyes included) and not many come back from that.

Religion: Devout Protestant Christianity (as was the case with many of the first New England settlers).

Name: Aaron Garrot
Age: 16
Sex: Male
Appearance: Aaron has medium long, light brown hair, that covers his eyes. He wears a cheap black sweater, and wears an old pair of pants. He?s rather small, and doesn?t look physically fit at all.
Personality: Aaron usually gives the first impression of a cynic, and most of the time he acts like one too. He has the capability to be positive, however he rarely chooses to do so. He may also seem condescending to most people he meets, even though he doesn?t attempt to do so. If he?s scared, he usually attempts to hide this, sometimes well, sometimes not.
Bio: Aaron Garrot was raised in poverty in London, born year 1778. Although he did live in a house, it was in poor condition, with a leaky roof and a weak floor. His parents did their best to nurture him with all the food and water they could gather, yet he still turned out quite unnurtured, leaving him both weak and small. When he later grew up to the age of ten, he managed to get a job in a factory, to earn money for his parents. However, after working there for the majority of a year, he couldn?t handle it anymore and ran away, thinking he?d be able to both leave the horrible pressure at work, and stop being a burden to his parents. He then earned the little money he received from begging on the streets, earning just about enough to survive. He always wanted to earn money, so that he could make his parents' last years pleasant.
Reason for Demise: He died from thirst at the age of 16.
Religion: Atheist
