Umm...I think the world has done just fine without internet for like 4 billion years.

Homo sapiens for like 40,000 years.

Hell there's a good chunk of my lifetime spent without it as well.

Though if by some horrible incident it was shut off, I would be quite interested as to how many different things it would effect such as Advertising (Companies actually advertised more on the internet than television in 2009 for the first time in the Uk)

I am sorry people who live on the internet, but when I grow up, I am going to break the internet, steal it, and delete it. I am going to leave this world in the dark ages. The years in which evolution shall crash and have to restart. I have many reasons I want to do this. One of them is because this world should not be the world of WALL-E. If technology continues at such a fast rate, this world is screwed.

No more online gaming, no more google, wikipedia, youtube, even no more escapist!!
no e-mails, which would mean that the worlds businesses would probably fall.

so what would happen?? and what would you do??

OT:Seriously though, a good section of the industrialized world would fall apart on us. We do so much stuff on the internet, and suddenly having it die on us would be a catastrophe. Japan alone would probably completely collapse.

Personally though, it would make my current life very, VERY, boring, although I suppose that I'd be able to adapt. Eventually......
