A xbox into a PS3

So recently i bought a Pc and am playing WOW terraria and what ever but im no PC gamer, Iv been looking at PS3 games and have recently desided to save a few paychecks to buy a PS3. Iv desided when i have a PS3 im geting Uncharted games, both infomise and maybe Killzone. Im a shooter gamer with main roots started in RPG and RTS, but what other games should i look for when im grabing a PS3?

First of all, get Starcraft 2 for your PC if you haven't already. Just do eet.

Demon's Souls and Valkyria Chronicles (don't listen to Yahtzee) are the only worthwhile PS3 exclusives that I can think of at this moment that you haven't listed.
If you haven't played Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9, be sure to buy them off the PSN store.
If you haven't gotten Portal 2 or the Assassin's Creed games on your PC or xbox yet be sure to get them too.

my laptop has a hard time runing WOW so i dont think it will run SC2 well

How far in did you get for 9? I felt the same way but after a couple of hours it got really exciting for me.

Starcraft 2, on its lowest settings, is actually surprisingly easy to run, from what I've seen. Given it doesn't run WOW well, I might reconsider.

Some possibilities: Heavy Rain, God of War (in some places, you can buy a $300 PS3 complete with a bundle that has an extra controller, and GoW1+2 on one disc), Vanquish (demo online, I still haven't tried it out but it does seem interesting)

I just got my PS3 very recently, so I'm also trying to figure out the best games to try.

Unless you cleared the first disc at a minimum, go back and play it again. Play until you beat Beatrix the first time, then come back and tell us if you hate it. Everything before you get to Lindblum is kinda bland, but it gets a whole lot better after that point.

Also, SC2 isn't very good...

As for PS3 games... Just go nuts. At this point there's tons out so I'd say just go to review sites and start searching for whatever genres you like...

Uncharted games as you've said. You said your roots started with RPGs, so if you're looking for a good hard RPG, Demon's Souls is exactly that.

I'd say Metal Gear Solid 4, but I only really recommend that if you've played the other games and liked them.

God of War 3 if you want a good violent hack and slash.

Little Big Planet 2 is a superb platformer(or just about anything else with the extent of those level creators).

Although I haven't played it, MAG is supposedly a decent shooter that is PS3 exclusive.

Infamous if you want something a little different
MGS if you don't mind the lack of trophies etc
Little Big Planet if you feel creative and like platformers
God of war if you like button bashing and chaos
Heavy Rain if you prefer plot and thrillers
GT5 if you like racing
Killzone & Resistance if you love FPS

My personal recommendation would be Metal Gear Solid 4 but it's hard to recommend to non-MGS fans. Even as a long time MGS fan myself I was getting annoyed and the insane cutscenes in this one.

I don't get the big deal about Starcraft 2 is, seems kinda boring to me, then again I didn't see what all the fuss was about with the first either.

I'd say Vanquish. It is totally insane shooty fun.

If you like Shooters, RPGs, and RTSs, you need to try Valkyria Chronicles. It?s a strategy game with shooter and rpg elements. There?s a demo for it. If you like it, you can probably find it for cheap.
Going by your tastes I would also have to highly recommend Borderlands and Fallout 3; both are rpg/shooters. No Demos for them but trust me, you?ll need goty for both. I have similar tastes in games (shooters, rpgs, rtss) and I am also extremely picky and I love those games.
Also try Warhawk, it?s another fun shooter game you can get for really cheap now.
