Ok, I have been on this forum for a little while and I notice alot of people use abbreviations, and normally I can figure them out, but what does OP mean?

Also, just for fun, what is your favorite abbreviation/acronym to pronounce phonetically?

Mine is XBLA (Xbox live arcade)

I always take it to mean 'Original Post' and use OP'er for 'Opening Poster'. But apparently it really means 'Original Poster [http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=OP]'.

And my favourite acronym is still the abbreviation of Copper Nanotube.

But in all honesty the only ones I only ever use are lol, brb, bbs (be back soon), omg, COD and WoW. Yes, boring, I know.

Edit: Ah yes, looking at the above post, also started using FTW since coming on here. Originally I thought it meant 'fuck the world', which is possibly more awesome than 'for the win'.

You really didn't know? I've heard of people who thought it meant "F**k the what?" or "F**k the world".

My favorite acronym is actually one my friends and I made up: HRBACS. It stands for "Hot Raunchy Blue Alien Chick Sex", thanks to Liara from Mass Effect. Don't worry, we weren't serious, we're not that perverted.

Uh, that's because it's a short form for typing, not for speech. You're using three keystrokes instead of eleven.

Typing worldwideweb for everything would get real old, real fast.
