I'm not really discussing it that much seeing as there's two user made threads and a employee made one, but I would just like to throw this out there. If you are going to bash the living Hell out of this, I ask that you at least listen to both sides of the argument first.

Personally, I believe Bioware when they say it's optional. You may not, and while I may have been vocal on this website already considering this matter, I can respect that...kinda.

So... the 10$ DLC is essentially the CE bonuses minus the CE case and some weapons? That's actually not nearly as bad as I had thought it was. I still think its dumb to make a Prothean a DLC character.

What can I say, they said that they developed it after the game was finished. It's up to you to decide if you believe them or not.

I really don't care. I was mad about it at first, but then I realized if I was going to buy Mass Effect 3, I'd buy the Digital Deluxe edition anyways. Is day one DLC bullshit? Absolutely and I still stand by that. However, I just love it when people get all up in arms and are like "BOYCOTT!" even though that almost never pans out and the very people who started the boycott end up buying it the day of release. (There has been exceptions, I know)

I'm not a huge fan of the Mass Effect series, but the games are fun, and I actually really enjoyed the multiplayer I played in the demo. I want to play more of it. I don't get why people always go on about BioWare betrayed them to EA, there was nothing particularly sacred about BioWare to begin with. They've made a couple of my favorite games, but I'm not under the delusion that they owe me anything.

Its a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. I don't believe them and I don't expect them to tell the truth about the matter. As much as I don't like Day 1 DLC, so long as the game can stand alone unhindered without it I really have no problem with it. Its optional. I just REALLY DON'T understand how a PROTHEAN squadmate is an optional part of the story. Blows my mind.

Yes well...have you noticed that they keep saying that they say that the DLC has an optional SQUADMATE and not an optional CHARACTER? I could be completely wrong here but it's something to think about.

I've seen this pointed out before and I will believe it when I see it. When it is CONFIRMED that the Prothean character is in the game and his importance is explored (for the most part) I can make an informed decision whether or not to give EA my money. If the DLC is just the make him a squadmate and offers little lore exploration beyond what is in the normal game then I don't really have much issue with it.

Looking at the leaked scripts, there is strong evidence to the contrary, but I am willing to give them benefit of the doubt for now. Besides we wont know until the game is out otherwise and right now I am sufficiently satisfied with the Multi to Guarantee my purchase of it.

Wouldn't know about that, I've been avoiding that thing thing like a diseas . I'll just say that it's old and some of the ideas could have been scraped, but like you said, we don't know.

I just got confirmation on the point, I wont spoil it for you, but It would be wise to stop clicking on ME3 threads all together to avoid potential spoilers from now on.

Cheers

I'm usually a calm person but this whole thing makes me lose my centre pretty damn fast.

Here you go:
http://www.change.org/petitions/bioware-and-electronic-arts-please-include-the-from-ashes-dlc-in-all-new-copies-of-mass-effect-3

Go sign a petition. It's not going very well so far, I wonder why...

Oh, right. Because, like I said many many times, we're all talk and nothing more.

Already signed the petition.I will definitely buy it if they decide to give the dlc to all copies of Mass Effect 3.

Buying the Collector'S Edition just for a soundtrack CD,some weapons in game, comic and some cutouts really doesn't add up in content compared with it's current pricing.

While I do not agree that such a decision on Bioware's part is ethical, I personally am not entitled to anything from the company and can choose not to buy the game. I probably won't buy it for some time, even if I choose to buy it at all. I didn't think ME2 was all the great (cool atmosphere but the actually gameplay was super repetitive. Duck, cover, shoot. Rinse and repeat).
