Well, I didn't only watch Game Damage for Yahtzee - I'd like to see more shows about gaming on Australian TV. However, Yahtzee's segments were the only good parts of it. It has potential, but I just don't think these guys can sustain any kind of quality if they were actually given a chance, and honestly, those two other guys just aren't very good at being in front of a camera. Add to that that gaming related TV shows generally just aren't very good.
So for now the closest I'm going to get to seeing a quality gaming show is the fine work of ScrewAtack.

well thats the only reason why anyone was attracted to it, because they saw the preview for it at the end of sonic unleashed review.

In all fairness, he has a name and he is marketing it. How many people are going to Defiance because Daniel Craig is in it and for no other reason? It's a perfectly reasonable (and kind of smart) thing to do.

I have not watched game damage yet, maybe I will, maybe I won't, in all fairness I haven't heard anything about it other than Herr Croshaw's in it and that it is about gaming.

I remember in the ZP mailbag showdown Yahtzee mentioned something about nagging little doubts. This thread is reminiscent of that. i.e. if Game Damage were as awesome as all that would there be any wonder at all why you kept watching after the first few minutes?

EDIT: As for the hate towards his fan base, I'm more inclined to believe it is because he's hamming up the character that made him so popular. He has been invited to multiple events and I can't imagine a person who is such a legitimately total asshole would be without us getting wind of it.

And the internet community isn't exactly that lovable, for me it's a challenge not to call a good 3/4 of the population of even this forum total twats. Fortunately those ones generally grow up and stop posting after a month.

Is Game Damage the reason we're getting so much new... questionable traffic?

The only part I found mildly interesting was the section on adventure gaming. The rest wasn't great.

Instead of watching a show about a man who I despise I believe we should I dunno maybe...um...form our own opinions about games instead of getting an english-man with a messiah complex to tell us what he thinks and what he believes is good...what I think will happen to the forums at game damage will be this.

No one will keep a watchful eye over them and sooner or later people will become trolls and invoke flame wars, thus making yahtzee look stupid. You see peoples when you let everyone on a forum be un-moderated (Like some of the forums on game damage) you will look like what your fan-base is, I.E. your fan base represents you, if you have stupid friends people will have the common assumption of thinking your a stupid, this applies to yahtzee in particular, his forums are un-moderated and thus could turn into massive amounts of /b/-tardage, completely ruining his image, thus making me laugh constantly.
I really don't see the problem with watching a show that I like.
And speaking of trolls, you are a decent example of one.
I would not like this to turn into a flame war, so I will say this...Wait no..I'll show it! [http://www.gamedamage.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1602]

Not to mention the comments on it, I would love to point out how this will lower the reputation of the site sooner or later. Not to mention the other Things there [http://www.gamedamage.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1560].

As it stands I do in fact have a point, not to mention that Yahtzee just keeps insulting his fan base, imagine if one of the mods came here and insulted you(They wouldn't), rude isn't it?

"I really don't see the problem with watching a show that I like."
Uhh...we are discussing the forums here...so...yeah...read my post instead of...you know just...skimming along it.....

"speaking of trolls, you are a decent example of one."
Ok I guess your right! I mean you have no evidence, no quotes not examples but...because you say so...I am?..Ok..By that logic a circle is a square...
.

I would like to point out that I think Yahtzee has had all this attention go to his head...His Downfall will be hilarious..

Also

"Okay, I'm being serious now. I wasn't planning on checking out Game Damage because I don't really want to support a man any longer who openly hates and alienates his own fan base. At this point I'm borderline indifferent to Yahtzee and his little shenanigans."
Thats pretty much why I watched it.
The reason I said "I really don't see the problem with watching a show that I like." was because you said, "I believe we should I dunno maybe...um...form our own opinions about games instead of getting an english-man with a messiah complex to tell us what he thinks and what he believes is good"
Th reason I believe he insults us is for the sake of humor, but I'm sorry for saying that you're a troll. That was very rude of me.

Yahtzee's not very good in Game Damage. He tends to hesitate and almost stutter because he's not reading directly from a script. You can see that there are a few points where he doesn't know what to say.

Overall though I didn't think the show was very memorable.

Game damage opinion forum is here, fourth from the top [http://www.gamedamage.net/forum/].

Yahtzee'll never read this. He might read that, though.

YAHTZEE REPLY

I must say, thanks to everyone who is posting entire new threads for their generic feedback, because your opinions are obviously too special and important to go with everyone else's in the general criticism thread. You thick twats.

This was a Yahtzee reply

It's like he's calling us a thick twat indirectly.
Exactly. He seems like a misogynist ass in person. Sure, ZP is amusing enough, but all his good comedy work was in his first three episodes of ZP. The Trillby games were nice enough.

People just need to stop feeding his ego so he realizes that he's not a minor deity.
*has a strange urge to start Bible thumping*
Uh-oh, that's not a good sign.

Meh it was alright the only really interesting bits were the digressions like where he talks about Adventure games but they felt like a cheap Screenwipe Knock-Off.

My thoughts exactly.

Yahtzee is a poor man's Charlie Brooker.

By now you've probably seen Yahtzee, Matt Burgess, and Guy Blomberg in Game Damage. I thought the first episode was decent but can anyone shake the feeling that we're just watching because Yahtzee id in it?
It's only the pilot. It was okay. Yahtzee was the only one of the three who had an ounce of charisma and his little skit on adventure games was actually interesting. The best part of the whole deal is reading the 'BAWWWWWWW!!! I HATE YAHTZEE!' comments that pop up here. Hating on thing because they're popular got old in Jr. High, kids.

It's not without its faults but there's potential in the show. My main gripe is that there needs to be a bit more dynamism between the presenters (think "Top Gear" where at any point 2 of the guys will pick on the other one).

Yahtzee's point & click bit was the best part.

Throw out that Matt dude and it'll be okay.

But the adventure game thing was so inspiring I dug up my Sam and Max Hit the Road game.

Good times.
