About Minecraft's Future

I think people are just sick of all the "HAY GUYZ I MADE SUMFING ON MINECRAFT LOL!" threads (Yes you made an airship/castle/tower/whatever we get it!)

I always viewed Minecraft as a game that can be summed up as (to quote/parody ZP) "You can but why would you want to?"

You CAN make a massive obsidian castle but digging a 4-block hole, jumping in and plugging the top two blocks up offers just as much protection and can be built in a fraction of the time.

You CAN build a boat and sail away to explore the world but you'll just have to go all the way back if you die because you can't alter the spawn point.

That's a lame comeback. Just because someone is obviously unable to create a game that's actually good doesn't mean I must make up for their lack of talent or skill.

Not to mention the game advocates punching sheep/pigs. What next Minecraft? Punching babies for milk?

The difference between MW2 and Minecraft is that MW2 is awful and a cash milker, while Minecraft is a very successful indie title, and a quality one at that. I think it's comparable to Garry's Mod. Unlimited creativity, unlimited gameplay, you can do whatever you want.

Haven't heard about people hating on GMod yet...

I hate Gmod.

To answer to Cliff_m85, you get milk from cows already! If you played maybe you'd realize that. Second of all, the floating is awesome considering I build bases in the SKY! All I have to do is destroy the bridge of three-to-four dirt squares and my house is entirely protected. (To break away, Xzi I love your Sim Ant avatar ;P).

By the way, Cliff, you DO realize that after you punch a tree to break it you can build an axe right? That's part of the beauty of Minecraft: No real goal, and while it may take some experimenting, you can make some really beneficial stuff. Don't talk shit without doing more than a little research please. How would you feel if someone reviewed a game you loved and only gave it a bad rating for only playing 5 minutes of it?

No offense mate, but he probably did a way better job than you can ever do. Right now he is laughing in your face in a bathtub full of money. And you are not arguing about the presence of the undead or other fictional creatures, yet are upset about the fact that trees will not tip over when you cut them? Do you actually care that much about a small detail like that for a game that is still in the beta stage? He wasn't expecting the game to be this popular, so it wasn't his highest priority to add a small detail like a tree tipping over.

Anyway, I understand what you all are saying. The hate is bound to come eventually right? So as long as we fight them off with good reasoning it should end eventually. This game isn't MW2, no game is NEARLY that broken.

a) Even though i have not have had the chance to play, i know that with the current and growing fanbase, Minecraft is pretty much covered.
b) MW2 was not that buggy. The problem was that the people cared more about the MP than the SP.
3) Yahtzee isn't getting boring. In fact I'd say that he is rather improving.
