Team Ninja not to be confused with Ninja Theory is the developer who is known for the Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden series and the people who popularize "jiggle physics". I'm not gonna say that they are a bad developer but the thing is they usually portray women in their games as masturbation aide and are never ashamed of it.

Now their last game Metroid: Other M received a lot of flak because of degrading Samus' character from a tough bounty hunter in earlier Metroid games to the wimpy, papa's girl portray in the game even though they only designed the gameplay and the blame should be focused to Yoshio Sakamoto the original creator and the one who wrote the script of the game.

It's seems to me that whenever Team Ninja's name appear on the box people's early conclusion about that game is the will surely contain boucing boobs and near naked women.

Now imagine if Eidos/Square-Enix decided that the next Tomb Raider game will be developed by Team Ninja and they will also wrote the story for it too, now that's a scary thought.

So what's your opinion on Team Ninja?

I didn't have an opinion because I don't play fighting or hack and slash games, but after I played Other M I don't necessarily like them. In some ways.

I love them. I love Ninja Gaiden 2, played and enjoyed DOA4, DOA2 was one of my first fighting games. I think they're pretty cool. I like Ayame.

People draw conclusions because, really, Team Ninja is a one-trick pony. That isn't to say their games are bad; the Ninja Gaiden games are great, and I've enjoyed Dead or Alive. But their entire resume is founded on "excessive violence and gratuitous sex appeal". Not a bad company slogan, but when teamed up with Metroid it just seems out of place. Like if Infinity Ward or Epic Games was contracted to make the next Civilization game.

In short, Team Ninja does good work, but I'd like to see them branch out and try something new, and actually succeed. They've somewhat pigeonholed themselves creatively, and their reputation is beginning to precede them for the worst on their more risky business ventures.

It's not even just that, and tell me if I'm wrong, but there are symbols scattered throughout the game that represent motherhood (bottleship, etc.). Why!? Because she's a woman, that's why. Apparently a woman can only have sex and kids and have no personality of her own because she is too busy being codependent on Adam or whatever. I read the plot synopsis, and apparently she trembles in fear at one point. Fuckin' bullshit. This is why I can't take Japanese culture seriously: because every time I start to accept it, some asshole has to release something that's just fucking embarrassing. Anime is to Japan what Twilight is to America. Let's leave it there.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
well, I loved the game play of metroid the other M so I give them credit for that but the plot was so bad that I have to assume everyone involved had a hand in it... ok not really but its a very bad... ok not so much the plot really as just the talking, the situation and her personality

yeah Other M's story hit a lot of people like a brick. It was bad because overall nobody really want to deal with that level of emotional baggage in one game, let alone a short one.

On topic. DOA was always a solid fighting game based around a great countering system. Yet quite a few people gripe on it because of the women in it. Yet even then its still a damn fun fighting game that I enjoyed much more then Tekken. Ninja Gaiden was cool too one of the best games I've played. Sigma 2 was extremely bad because of the lack of guidance from Itagaki. So it that tarnished the great legacy of Ninja Gaiden. The DOA Volleyball games aren't supposed to be taken seriously eventhough people give Team Ninja a lot of shit for it.

Well, i like them.
sure im not too fond of their like of Fanservice but they do have a knack for making fun games.

Besides, the awful voices and presentation of the story was all Nintendo's fault, not Team Ninja's.

I think they're okay but I too make pre-conclusions about them. Just that not much of their material besides ninja gaiden has ever caught my interest. You already stated their previous actions towards females soI don't really expect much. However it's not like I ban their games, I play em~

I loved Ninja gaiden black on the 360 NG2 felt like a let down, other m made me happy i was not a metroid fanboy. I fear that they may have lost their focus.

I loved them, what happened?

IT's probably a mixed bag. Most(if not all) of the games that Team Ninja creates are great experiences, so as a gaming company, I think they are great. However, the images they portray about women in general is somehow nearing pornographic. So, as a group of people with well rounded imaginations, I would have to take a step back and raise an eyebrow.

My feelings towards Team Ninja are pretty neutral. DOA4 was alright and I never finished Ninja Gaiden.

The only game by them I played is Ninja Gaiden Sigma and I thought it was shit. Horrible controls and awful character design.

What I hated about Metroid Other M? Stupid ass reasons for me not to use what my suit is already equipped with. Oh noes, a fire room! Guess I'll just struggle through it. Oh, now that I'm past it my boss is calling me and saying that I'm allowed to use the fire suit. Really? It's the lamest way to let you "unlock" abilities. They could have literally done anything, you pick up something and it attaches onto your wrist, and I would have enjoyed that more.

That being said, the game was good all in all. I could have done without the first person parts as well. In fact, take those out and change the upgrading system and I would go so far as to say the game is great. It was nice to finally see Samus with some personality for once though, and to see a Nintendo franchise actually using voice acting (it only took 15 years but maybe Mario, Kirby, and Donkey Kong will follow suit one day and finally be able to speak instead of just type their thoughts).

Now, as for Team Ninja, yeah, they do spent a little too much time on (awesome) boob physics. That being said, does it really matter? Their games are, for the most part, really good. I've seen other games focus too much on worse things than boob physics, and the game on top of it all sucks, so it leaves me asking "What's the point?". If they finish the game though, it's solid and they got some extra time, I say go nuts with the boob physics :D

I loved Team Ninja.

Note that I use the past tense. Right now I have little idea what they're doing since the only thing they've done recently outside of a few ports (NG Sigma 2, DOAX2 for the PSP, DOA:Dimensions for the 3DS) is Other M where they were asked to basically do a slight re interpretation of gameplay that already existed. Since Itagaki and those loyal to him left for greener pastures Team Ninja hasn't really done anything that I feel able to judge them on.

The Team Ninja that gave me the DOA series and the NG series, plus the guilty pleasure of DOAX1&2, however? One of my favourite development teams ever.
