Hello everyone,

As we all know by now alot of people have been upset with the Connor only killing the British so far in what we have seen. It has been stated that Connor will go after anyone no matter their allegiance. So a theory that kind of came to me was what if their are Templars on both sides of the Revolution (fighting each other to be the first to get a piece of eden) or what if the Revolution is a "Templar civil war". I mean alot of the founding fathers of America were Masons which have ties to the Templars so it could be possible.

So what is everyone opinion on this theory? Is it possible? Does anyone have a theory of their own about this?

Nobody was really doubting that there would be Templars on both sides of the war.

I'd just like the promotional material to be less AMERICA FUCK YEAH!

Yeah ill agree with you on that. I was just trying to figure out how they could make it to have templars on both sides and kind of make sense.

Well, the Templars and Assassin have always sort of ignored the smaller conflicts in favour of the larger picture.

Templars would probably be on both sides of the war, pulling the strings to get the desired outcome.

I was of the understanding that early on one of the devs at ubisoft said that you would be a neutral thrid party and would assassinate templars that were both in the Rebels and the Redcoats armies. So far I've seen nothing to confirm this an it does seem reaaaaaaly America Fuck Yeah, which is weird considering Ubisoft is a European/Canadaian based game company. I don't even know if they have a game team in the States.

Have you played Assassin's Creed 1?

There were Templars on both sides of the conflict in that game. It was kinda the point, actually.

This was also the case in Revelations, although it was a bit hard to notice because the Assassin/Templar conflict seemed to affect the city more than the remaining embers of discontent from the Ottoman takeover.

What would be unexpected and strange in AC3 would be if the Templars hadn't managed to place their people into positions of power on both sides.

Washington has pretty much been confirmed to be a friend of Connors, so my prediction of the plot is that he is an Assassin, or sympathetic to them, and orders you to kill Templar redcoats, while also getting you to cleanse his own ranks of any hidden Templars, so his forces are pure and free and liberty-ous.
With optional twist that Washington is actually a Templar at the end of the game.

Templars have always been on every side of the war.

Hell, the Janissary guys that were supposed to not really dislike Assassins and hate Byzantines end up being manipulated by a templar by the end.

Good point about the Masons. I mean, helllloooo floating eyeball pyramid on my dollar bill! Would be disappointing if the storyline doesn't bring this up.

Also, the Hellfire club, of which Ben Franklin was a member. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellfire_Club

Seriously, there is so much cool conspiracy stuff during this time period that if it turns into nothing more than Last of the Mohicans with a splash of The Patriot, I'm going to be seriously miffed. Miffed, I tell you.
