Achievement Hunter is a series of walkthrough videos by the Rooster Teeth/RvB guys (mostly Geoff/Grif it seems), which is awesome.
Pajamachievements [http://ah.roosterteeth.com/groups/profile.php?id=4738] is a gamer party (hosted by Geoff/Grif's wife) that... well it's pretty self-explanatory, isn't it?

Thoughts of the not-youtube variety welcome.

If those aren't good enough, check out xbox360a.org that should have just about everything you need. Even has Marketplace stuff...

I'm pretty sure they weren't meant to be walkthroughs... as evidenced by there not being a single walkthrough segment.

I explained what they both were separately. I don't see what the problem is.

Thats One of the problems. The second would be that you shouldn't advertise videos on these forums unless they have some importance to a conversation.

So I guess what I'm looking for are opinions on whether this sheds a good light on girls gaming, or if you think it's just eye candy, or if it's not worth acknowledging altogether.

I'm guessing it's the latter for maddawg.

From what I understand it (not being a strong watcher of Rooster Teeth's videos or anything) Rooster Teeth's works are machinima, making them pertinent to the gaming scene. He says right there that it is to do with gaming in both clips, making them pertinent to a 'Gaming Discussion' forum.

Perhaps you wouldn't be complaining if he simply said "Discuss" at the end or something? Personally I have nothing to say since I'm not going to bother watching them, but don't go around attacking things as being irrelevant to the forum - "Don't do it unless they have some importance to a conversation."

Is posting up an up-and-coming machinima series irrelevant to a gaming forum? From what I understand, gaming is a major if not the sole medium to produce these videos, and many of them are actually very well-made.

Also to add, one doesn't always need to completely define a topic for a group to discuss. What has been done here is that NC3 has given you two seperate machinima series, and asked for thoughts. Try posting your opinions, and having people join/attack them. That might actually become an interesting thread, don't you think? Then it -will- have some importance to a conversation.

As an aside, why is it that one shouldn't post videos on a forum without some importance to a conversation? Perhaps that video might have some actual merits of its own IE E3 reports. Or, maybe they planned for the videos to actually start the conversation that they'd have some importance to.

Actually, neither of them have to do with machinima. The theme is about getting Xbox 360 achievements.

I would embed a video in the post so people don't have to click the link, but I don't know what the code for it is.

Also, thanks.

Apart from possibly attacking your only defender :)p) that still has relevance to gaming in that its for getting achievements in Xbox games, useless as they are.

If anythingg it has very little to do with Gaming. Also I find it has nothing to with Girl gamers but it is rather a way to intorduce the women of there lives to the community ( In other words Eye candy). I mean Griffon is one of the only workers at RT that does not work with tecnolgy or on very rare occasions. All she does is write the text for there comics.

Cesasse your posts do offer a very good point but I don't find it to do with Gaming at all. It is just a reaction video of what the girls do hardly any actual gameplay

Since I am not at the risk of losing my argument, I will watch the Pajamachievements video.

Well, after watching two episodes, it is to do with gaming in as much as they're trying to unlock achievements. I don't enjoy them, I thought it was irritating, and now I know why I'll never play Left 4 Dead on a console (which would probably carry weight if I actually played consoles anyway).

Technically, it is not really about video games. Really, as Maddawg has said, its mostly reactions to their attempts of stuff. But isn't that the spirit of the review? Recording your reactions? The actual gameplay is secondary. Do you ever see Yahtzee ingame through the recording? No. You hear what he thought about it. Consider this a commantary variation as it happens. And it has girls in pajamas.

It has video games in it - its got some relevance. And look, its become the topic of a discussion!

You do see gameplay in most reviews. However Yathtzee's style dosen't really call for it.

I guess I should just stick to "vs" and "favorites" threads then.
