Neo-folk, all the way. Any other acoustic music is a waste of time IMO.

Does Joanna Newsom count as Neo-folk? I rather like her music.
Definitely not. Actually I don't mind her myself, but she's about as far away from Neo-Folk as it's possible to get.

The Wiki on Neo-Folk will give you a rough idea: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neofolk

I can't actually post it here, because video doesn't exist yet, but my buddy's band does an acoustic cover of MGMT's Kids that is just awesome.

Ah, I see now. I must have been thinking about Psych Folk. So, would Neo-folk be a bit like the Swans later work if you've heard it, like the acoustic parts of Children Of God, or some of Michael Gira's solo stuff? I saw him mentioned in the Wiki.
I've heard that stuff, I'm a big Swans fan and I actually prefer the acoustic Swans over their earlier noise-rock stuff. I think they're drawing a bit of a long bow by lumping Swans/Angels Of Light in there as Neo-Folk though. There's some common threads musically for sure but the lyrical and ideological approach is certainly extremely different. Gira's coming at folk music from a very different kind of angle, he doesn't share the post-industrial mindset of the major Neo-Folk practitioners. If I were going to categorise them, I'd put Swans in with the No-Wave New York scene artists like Lydia Lunch, Sonic Youth, Suicide, etc.

Good choice - my flatmate did one of his songs on stage one time (made the A grade with it).

My adoration for this song knows no bounds. I realise it's not entirely acoustic as it contains other instruments, but I think it still has a place.

God yes.

I'd like to toss this one in:
Easily the best version of this song. Ever.

//Edit//
Also, while I'm not a fan of his cover of a Knife song, I did enjoy this cover:
(I admit, it's not ENTIRELY acoustic)

[Kira Must Die]'s Jeff Buckley link made me think of that song (as it was written and sung by his g/f after he died).
